Hello folks, got f8 this summer and excited for its ownership. Living in Toronto, I need to winterize car soon.... To store for winter.... I was told to fill air to 50, leave it in charger and out fuel stabilizer...by Ferrari here.

    Any other advise ?

Where can I buy this stabilizer... Anywhere any type? Or best to drop by Ferrari and buy from them ?

Those are the important things. The rest is trivial. Don't bother even starting it once until you're ready to get it out. You could start it half way through the winter and that is a good opportunity to run the a/c also, idle/change gears til operating temperature but I don't know that is is necessary. If you do start it, be sure to let it warm up to operating temp before you shut er down. I live outside of Chicago, same difference. Stabil is very popular fuel additive here in the states, you guys have it I am sure. No need to buy from Ferrari, go to the local parts store.

Another vote for Stabil. Amazon has it and your local auto parts store has it. Follow the directions for the amount and drive the car after putting it in the tank.

Just brim the fuel right up the neck so no air in there. Keep it on charge and no need to start or move it if the tires are over inflated as per previous posts. When you do get it up, drive it long and hard for a while, fuel does go off so need to purge.

If possible find Ethanol free gas and fill it with that since ethanol can pull in water over time if the gas is sitting in an un-used car. I always use it in my exotics.

You get that stuff on the west coast? I thought they were really tough on that. Here in Illinois your odds of getting ethanol free fuel is ZERO. Except for maybe at the drag strip where its $50 a gallon. I have used ethanol in my collection for years and never have had a problem. I do use an additive like Joe Gibbs for example that is friendly

Yes here is a web site you can find the stations that carry it. I found 129 stations in IL (your state) In WA it’s about 1$ more per gallon than 92 with E10. Could
Be my imagination, but I think E0 gives the car better performance?

Thanks and all but NOT around the vicinity of Chicago......for farm equipment thats different. I would think too that the E0 gives better performance as well.

Thank you. Roughly how much to drive the car after (asking so i can time it, i.e. put stabiliser, drive, inflate tires and forget about it till march.)

Thank you, silly question but (a) I assume, I need to deflate tires to regular next year? (b) does TPMS needs to be recalibrated after ?

Of course you need to deflate the tires to spec. Do that before you start the car, you'll be better off. That way the TPMS won't get freaked out with overinflated tires and maybe malfunction. By doing so you won't have to recalibrate it as it is already sensing that they are inflated properly.

I would be most concerned with rodents.

Lots of ways to set up traps and options what to do. I’ll seal up any entrance point, add traps, can use peppermint oil (outside), cloth dryer sheets, dry out quickly as a deterrent.

I prefer filling with non ethanol fuel. Don’t start during storage. Causes more wear than worth.

Of course, a battery maintainer is mandatory.

Buc-Ees has ethanol free 93 octane if you’re anywhere the east coast.

Boy you're damn straight about the rodent issue if one does present itself or persist. I have not ever experienced that nor would I consider ever doing so. But yes, a major consideration. What really sucks about all that is that, doesn't that want to make you relocate your car elsewhere or maybe it just doesn't matter? Yuck

When I referenced rodent prevention - especially when it’s cold outside and warmer in the garage. Clearly don’t want any open water or food in the garage. For example for pets.

When I stored cars for a cold winter; what is important for me is sealing any opening from the garage door seals and man door. A mouse can sneak into its new home in very thin spaces.

Being over the top, I would check the stored area one a week or so for any droppings on the floor and reconfirm car cover is on tight. And no rodent on sticky traps.

I never had an issue with flat spots with the tires these days. But doesn’t hurt to increase several pounds, as recall that is indicated on the manual.

I’m more of a fan with Starbrite for fuel stabilizer. If it takes several months to burn through a tank of fuel, I leave tank half full. Then replenish some during driving season. If using non ethanol, that’s not necessary.

Lastly, i like to have oil changed and perhaps in humid climate, the brake fluid flushed b4 storage, so parts rest in clean fluids. FWIW.

Run some rv antifreeze through the block and put it on jack stands. You don't wanna square the tires

    Weirdos.
