Anyone have a set of these with out the valves installed on their car? Do they sound good? I picked up a set off ebay for my spider and was wondering how much louder they will be? Is there any increase in performance?

The pieces I have bolt up to the muffer. They are not the slip-on tips.

Yes, and it depends if you like the sound of your exhaust with the valves disconnected (and hoses plugged). I don't. And it drones like crazy with the top up; THAT's my biggest disappointment. So start with unplugging your valves and see if you like it. And have somebody you trust drive your car so you can hear how it sounds from the outside. It sounds a lot nicer from the cabin; it sounds like crap outside IMO. The only positive they have is they look fantastic IMO (pic below). The stockers are so ugly I rather live with drone, so won't put them back.

Biggest problem is their price. Without valves they're a hefty $1,750. And with valves pretty much like many aftermarket non-valved exhausts, so you might as well buy one of those instead, which will have a much more pleasant sound throughout the rev range due to exhaust gasses passing thru the muffler all the time (with little restriction), plus being loud outside while not as loud inside, and reportedly with less drone. I want to hear non-valved exhausts to make a final decision, and I suggest you do the same. Hope this helps.
