    I would think very hard about eliminating cats on a street car. Mine came without cats and the car smelled so bad I couldn't drive with the windows down. Added Fabio's cats and it's perfect now. Just my experience...

    For anyone who is interested, I finally have the temperature readings from my ceramic coated headers.
    I have Fabio's headers coated with Cerakote glacier series titanium.
    Stock readings are from @Konadog06 's car.

    This is with the car warmed up after a 20 minute drive.
    A couple of random areas in the engine bay to assess general temperature:
    Readings (degrees Fahrenheit) from my car with Fabio's headers ceramic coated:
    -Rubber intake tube L 144, R 137
    -Top of throttle body L 143, R148
    -Valve cover (near the front) L215, R230
    Left side header 506
    Right side header 513

    Readings from @Kondadog06's car (OEM headers with heat shields and cats)
    -Rubber intake tube L 144, R 141
    -Top of throttle body L 137, R127
    -Valve cover (near the front) L202, R216
    Left side header 345
    Right side header 355

    So the readings around the engine bay are relatively similar, with the obvious largest difference being the manifolds themselves.
    It would be interesting to see someone's readings with Fabio's headers with no coating if anyone is willing. I don't suspect there is going to be much of a difference. I am also unsure of the level of performance of the Cerakote product vs swain, jet-hot, and others.

    Any guidance appreciated as I haven't read each page of this thread. I am looking for a setup for a Euro 550M. Possibly everything from headers to exhaust. Catalyzed? Secondary-Air? Non Secondary Air? Not exactly sure what pieces to order, suppose I could send message as well to the workshop. Any advice is welcomed, thank you

    Hawkeye- Just keep it the same as she is now. Euro 550 should not have secondary air, and Fabio's 200 series cats work fine. If she needs any fine Motronic ECU tuning, Trevor can fix you up.

    My 99 German delivered 550 has sec air, i believe standard here too, because of the emission category.

    @Hawkeye
    If the guys from the emission control are less strict, i would choose no sec air and the cats.
    With this combination you reach the standard datas from the original cats.
    The emission control guys knows that for Euro xx emission category there is sec air necessary, so if they are strict, you should take sec air.

    I really have no idea. They’re not OEM and came with the car when I bought it. They’re valveless with no identifiable markers so I’m assuming Made in China :D

    Interesting data- thank you. The header temp verifies what two highly experienced mechanics have told me and that Fabios headers have such a high temp that is causing my CEL issues . I seem to be the only one out there having such an extreme fault cause. Its not just one , but 4 error codes. I am not comfortable with a remapping to bandaid this so I am going back to the OEM manifolds and using Fabios H pipe and silencers.

    Sorry to hear this. Do you know exactly which error codes you are getting?

    Interesting. You also have a 575 which is supposed to have better cooling. How many miles before symptoms started creeping up?
    I had asked Fabio about additional heat shields but ultimately we went with ceramic coating.

    P1038, P1040, P1263, P1288. They have been there since Day 1 ( 3 yrs running) . Have tried everything collaboratively with all parties. I have a very late model 2005, if that has any merit.

    Once I get the codes cleared, it only takes 2 cycles and 30 miles or so for the codes to reappear

    For anyone struggling with CELs on Fabio's system, please get in touch.

    I have been working with Fabio on a software solution and can help, not only that but I can also improve shift speeds for F1, eliminate the "bog down" between gearshifts and give healthy increases in both power and delivery response times. See Clive Romero's thread for more information.

    Does anybody have a pair of excellent condition OEM 550 cats available? A friend who is looking for a set just asked me.

    Whilst researching I have noticed that the videos on YouTube of these exhausts on the on the 550's, 575's and 599's all sounds to be too high pitched;

    This next short of a 599 sounds awful in my opinion.

    https://youtube.com/shorts/1c1O3IKkil4?feature=share

    Is this how they sound when you drive the cars?

    I like the sound this vid which is from one of our members here;

    Is it worth just getting the headers and leaving on the stock exhausts or Tubi's that I have??

    Everyone knows that “Miata is always the answer”…..BUT….as it pertains to exhaust…..why isn’t “Fabio is always the answer”…..feels like it to me.

    Headers with high flow cats if you don’t mind the heat or cat back if you do.

    Get the fun/entertaining remote control valves and “bobs your uncle” (I sit at stoplights some times at idle and just push the remote and it’s “instant smile” for me).

    Hi

    The 3rd video is from my 550

    Go through this thread for more informations.
    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/550-maranello-exhaust-ideas.582112/

    Page 4+5 with some videos driving, the one on page 5 is with full throttle 1-4th gear.

    The 6-1 always raise the pitch.
    X pipe produces a "dirty" raspy sound
    Rear mufflers are not very important for sound character (with the 6-1), but responsible for overall loudness.

    The 599 vid you posted is 6-1 system without cats (i would say).
    Also with cats it's too loud for me and too loud for some countries.
    With Fabio's special absorbent silencers which he made especially for me it was perfect in pitch and loudness.
