Well to be more specific, if anything fails that is in relation to the aftermarket parts installed, then yes it does. If say your w/w washer pump fails, then no as that has no relation to the aftermarket parts in question, so your warranty will still cover that part.

I would suggest you go to Fabspeeds website and check out the FAQs. It's number 27. What is the Magnuson-Moss Act and how do aftermarket parts affect my warranty? I replaced the stock system with a complete Fabspeed system....and I mean everything. It's shocking how poor quality the original system was compared to the new stuff. Btw, I don't have any warranty left but I really don't understand how a free'r flowing exhaust system would hurt the engine....even if you get a CEL, I doubt it would hurt anything. Anybody else know?

My best guess is it mostly hurts Ferrari's feelings. :D After all, a lot of thought went into the exhaust THEY sold the car with, right?

But, it also isn't designed by them, so they can't warrant that the design or manufacturing is within Ferrari specs. And it's not just Ferrari that voids your warranty if you mess with their original equipment. Some aftermarket guys extend their own warranty, like Dinan does with BMW, but most manufacturers won't fix anything for free that you've messed with.

But if your CEL is coming on with an aftermarket exhaust, it's for a reason. Means whatever the exhaust is doing doesn't align with what the Ferrari technicians thought was proper operation for their motor.

I'm wondering if anyone here has taken their car with the aftermarket exhaust to a dealer and attempted to assert a warranty claim on their motor, and if so, what were the ACTUAL results.

And of course, if you remove the factory cat, you not only void the warranty, you violate Federal law, and make your car illegal for the road or resale. (Not that it ever seems to be a concern for car guys.)

Surprised no one has responded to this. I’m wondering the same thing right now. If I post asking if a capristo exhaust voids warranty on my 488
