Doing a 30k at the same time. Sounds great-bypass is now wired open FT. My mech says these bolt up and fit perfectly FWIW. I should be driving it away in the next couple days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you live ANYWHERE where salt corrosion is a problem, get these headers coated. Mine are uncoated and they are surviving Guam at the moment, but there is corrosion beginning to form. That said, even stainless steel will corrode out here, it is THAT salty and it's not that the headers are somehow poor for the application, but rather the extreme environment. I plan to pull mine, blast them, and coat them. Still, for relatively low buck Chinese headers, they are not too shabby. They are holding up about as well as the 304L custom exhaust that I put on it (although the 304L exhaust is exhibiting slightly less corrosion). I am running a muffler with a pair of electric exhaust cut-outs for just running flat out wide open when I am feeling my oats. Still too loud and I will find a way to tame the muffler some.... As the dynomax that I am using is just not quite girlfriend friendly... even for my extremely tolerant girlfriend who adores the F355, somewhere I have a picture of her hugging the car.. All in all, very happy with the product. It let me ditch the smog pump with the option of putting it back if I felt like I missed it... I DON'T. It isn't the best flowing header, but it flows "well enough" considering that the factory header was a pile of dung that self destructed. Mark
Mark - Just out of curiosity, is there good driving available on Guam? Its great to see how many places Ferraris are garaged, that we might not normally expect.
I'm sure there is, but According to congressman Hank Johnson Guam might tip over so you better not take any corners too quickly lol.
That man is real testimony to the quality and intelligence of our elected officials we are so screwed
Been to Guam several times. It's a great place to wreck an exotic. You might be able to run it on the airport or air force base. The pavement is this odd mix of crap including coral. Can't be good for tire life.
Thanks for the love, guys! I attached some photos of the headers off the car with the coating Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Finally this chapter is closed, car is back home. Props to Larry @ Ferrari Technologies-who installed the Fabspeeds, did 30k svc & fixed a list of little bugging issues that needed fixing! Evan & Fabspeed (headers)have a good product-both according to Larry & my ear/seat of pants experience. The headers look great and the car seems to gain revs much tighter & quickly. The sound is awesome-totally more authoritative. My bypass is now open FT though, so it's not JUST headers responsible for the sound diff. I immediately had a smog test done..car passed no prob. The front end of my car seems high(in terms of fender gap)-this has been noted by others as well. But, Larry said that he can't adj it any lower because the first owner ( in Italy)put aftermarket springs on and it is adj as low as it goes. Weird. This is going to drive me crazy, so I need some stock 355 springs. If anyone has some, I'd love to know. Ideally I'd like to trade my OEM headers (LH is fine, RH one failed but is weld-able). Any takers/pointers in the right direction would be appreciated. Yippee kayyay & Forza brethren!
Yep! There are many roads that are now real asphalt. Tire life is about average so far, as I drive mostly on asphalt and very little on the coral stuff. Yes, and no, there are some beautiful roads and there are some nasty ones as well. Some are decidedly not Ferrari friendly. That said, there is another issue with Guam and that is the insanely low speed limit. The speed limit on the island is a pedestrian 35 MPH, but most drivers tend to drive above that speed on a number of the nicer roads. The really nice part about having a 355 spider though is putting the top down and enjoying it on the island as intended. Sometimes it's not all about going fast.
