Why take the lights off ? One thing for sure , higher flow cats , GPF removed , better sound with no CEL ( not assisted for removal ) you could / will have a win
The lights had to be removed in order to remove the bumper. We're excited to hear it when we finalize development! We're posting more up-to-date updates on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Let us know if you have any questions!
That is a great question. Unfortunately we can not tell you how your dealership will react to the parts. We have some dealerships that do not care and some that care a lot. I always say making friends with Service advisor and a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue never hurt anyone!!

With the F8 any of these products are going to need the ECU manipulated. You touch the ECU and the entire power train warranty and other parts that are controlled by the ECU will be void. Check with your Ferrari dealer or better yet call Ferrari North America and discuss with them...I have myself.
Just not worth it. Which is a shame because this sounds so much better. After 3 years when the warranty runs out go for it.
Regarding the no-CEL.with 200 cell cats. My experience in the other cars have often been that initially there's no CEL. But after 1500 miles or so when the cats have opened up a bit, then the CEL comes on. It is normal for new cats to have a break in period where they are a bit more efficient. Have the cars with no CEL done some proper test mileage, and been on the track? If not, I think it is not really fair to say that there will be no CEL. I have not seen a Pista or 488 with 200 cell cats not throw a CEL after burning in the cats. Just something to be aware of for those considering sports cats. My dealership is onboard with muffler swaps & GPF removal, but must keep the OEM cats- full warranty retained.
If you only remove the center muffler you will not get a cel. We have come up with a way to remove the center muffler without touching the GPFs. The GPFs are monitored so if you took them off you would get a cel without a ton.
Sorry, if you have received a CEL with an aftermarket cat. We use the biggest best HJS Cat so we do not have to worry about a CEL. Now, if you are using race fuel in them that will be a different story. We have done many 458, 488 with sport cats and have not had an issue. We also have an very good warranty on our catalytic convertors.
I've seen this with HJS cats and no race fuel. Just asking what your testing procedure was, because there's a difference between a car that have driven 400 "gentle" miles on the street and a cat that is properly burned in after a while and some tracking. I rarely do sport cats, but with an F8 coming at some point, I might be interested, and thus I'd like to know a bit more about the testing.
That is a great question. I don't think you can count gentle miles on these cars. Although I can't say that I have personally put the miles on the cars. I do know that I have a handful of 458 and 488 customers that do not have issues and they are not putting gentle miles on anything.
What I mean by gentle is driving that does not push the car hard for prolonged times. When on a track you can burn through a full tank of fuel in less than two hours, and that heat cycles the cats in a completely different way that even healthy spirited street driving. Everything gets much hotter and there's a lot more exhaust gas being pushed through at a higher pressure than on the street. Any street driving aside from the most illegal idiocy must be considered gentle compared to a track workout. At least that's my take on it. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yes, I understand I can't say if they have tracked the cars. As long as your are using not 100 octane we have a 5 year warranty on our cats so you don't have to worry about the cats failing. As far as the CEL is concerned we have not seen a CEL with our cats because of heat. In facts I have seen more CEL because of guys not driving their cars hard enough and receiving carbon build up over too much exhaust going through.
At Sebring in my 2018 Porsche GT3 I would burn almost a tank of fuel in a 30 minute session....I had about a 1/4 tank left of a 27 gallon tank. LOL I too see CEL come on with 200 cell cats under track use. Some guys "think" they push he cars hard on the street but it's really nothing like a advanced driver on a professional race track...going full throttle hard brake full throttle over and over for 30 minutes...absolutely nothing...as I know you know.
That is great and mine will do muffler change too but any power train issues and you've touched the cats, ecu its not the dealerships decision on warranty it is Ferrari USA who makes that decision. My dealer says even touching the muffler and Ferrari has an open window to void warranty on engine related issues. Ferrari will claim exhaust flow and temperature is not with in OEM specs due to after market muffler and air fuel flow is changed. Ferrari would not even warranty the stuck perch on my rear coilover/shock! The dealership tried to get them to warranty it and help out in some way even though the car is stock and in warranty. Ferrari USA even returned my call..shocking I know...but refused warranty with a host of excuses with accusing me personally in tampering with the shock my self and accusing the dealer of not following protocol.
I guess anything can happen, but when the dealership says it’s OK and they do the R & R work I’m pretty sure they are gonna work with ya.... but who knows.
Track day today with the F8. Better than my 488 GTB , yes several ways but absolutely no on the sound. .
