    maybe it's just me, but I associate people's avatars with their identities - and I think that's the point of an avatar - e.g., I like the possibility that people will associate my name w/ my father's car in my avatar.

    But the disturbing phenomena for me is that I am also associating avatars of faces w/ that particular f-chatter.

    If I ever meet Matteo, a subconscious part of my brain believes that he should look like the scary Beavis person in his avatar. For awhile before the election last year, Wax's avatar was an old shot of John Kerrey - I know he doesn't look like that, but, God help me, I still see Kerrey's face when I think Wax.

    Now if I ever meet Dr. Uro and he actually looks like a cat w/ a tennis ball hat, I'll just check myself into the nearest mental institution . . .

    Anyone else suffer from this malady??

    I was thinking about changing it but, Like you, I now associate users with avatars.

    I was in New Jersey in March and I met Bruce for dinner. He asked, Is your avatar a REAL picture of you?

    I fell off my chair!!

    What bugs me the most is the identical avatars (ie LaFun2 and UroTrash) ... "wtf? he just quoted himself?" or "uh? UroTrash talking about picking up random chicks?" ... works the other way around "LaFun2 sticked his fingers up someone's butt? WTH?" ... :D. I usually figure it out quickly, though. hahaha.

    Same here... I'll change every once in a while, but I always go back.

    I have my cellphone set up so that when an Fchatter calls me, their avatar pops up on the small LCD screen on the front of the phone. :D

    that's pretty bad. maybe I'll do that when I have a better connection (besides IRDa) when I pick up a 650.
