Each Sport usually has a 'Face' that everyone knows about, points to,
but who are the 'Faces' of each sport?
There can only be one for each sport.

NFL - For years the NFL had Peyton Manning, then he retired, then Brady took the role. Who is it today?

NBA - LeBron is the face of the NBA, like him or not.

    MLB?

NHL? - It was supposed to be Connor Bedard, but isn't.

Golf? (where did Rory and Jordan Spieth disappear to?)

    IndyCar?

NASCAR? It was Chase Elliott, he seems to have disappeared.

F1 - was Lewis (like him or not), now it's Max (like him or not...).

    Patrick Mahomes

    without a doubt

no one, but I think Shohei Ohtani can get there.

Rory had it, but then lost his luster with the politics and his play the last year. Rahm could have taken it if staying PGA. As much as I don't like him, Scottie Scheffler can take it especially winning today.

    Agreed, I forgot about Mahomes.

Ohtani CAN, but I don't know if the american people can 'identify' with a guy
that doesn't want to speak english. He's been in the USA since 2013, I find it
very odd he hasn't learned enough english to have a conversation... ?

Golf is wierd, Spieth was the second coming, won a ton for 2-3 years, then, almost disappeared.
Rory was the same - won a ton for 2-3 years, then, not much.
A year or two ago all we heard about was Cameron Smith, and today??
    Golf is wierd...

NHL had Gretzky and Lemieux, then Crosby, being a leading scorer doesn't make you a 'face' of a sport.
Lots of leading scorers, but I can't say Jagr or Ovechkin was a 'face' of the NHL....

Why ? He seems like a pretty cool laid back guy, married his high school sweetheart, having a baby, drives an old Yukon, etc ...

fans and fellow golfers love him, I should like him as a local Highland Park and University of Texas guy, but he just seems too cold. Nail in the coffin was his unsportsmanlike and petty moves towards LIV, like walking through Cameron Smiths line after it was known he was going to LIV.

If I go ask 100 people on the street to name me the face of the NHL they will answer that?
I kinda doubt it, I'm guessing they will say either Gretzky, or 'I have no idea'.

It's like asking folks who is the best race car driver today, and you're going to hear 'Earnhardt' more than anyone.
Almost nobody under 30 has ever heard of AJ Foyt or Richard Petty...

It's funny that on Dan Patrick today he said the same things I said,
    along the lines of:
'We have been waiting for someone to take the reins after Tiger, we had Rory, then
Spieth, then Koepka, but nobody has. they last about 2-3 years, then pfffft - and disappear'.

Gretzky has been retired for almost 30 years. Nobody in their right mind will say Gretzky is the face of the NHL.

With your logic people will say Joe Montana is the face of the NFL

LeBron James is kind of like Scottie Scheffler for me, I didn't like him and not really sure why. LeBron has a similar standoffish no humor demeanor. The games I watched him seemed like he didn't hustle and I saw him hogging the ball taking a lot of shots to make a few. I know the stats don't back that opinion up completely.

Well, just recently I have started coming around on LeBron. He is doing a podcast with JJ Redick called Mind the Game Pod.

I like the podcast as they both get really technical with the X's and O's of the game and both are outspoken about teams, players, and coaches. I have never seen LeBron relaxed like this as him and JJ drink bottles of wine. LeBron is a ****ing genius high IQ player on top of his physical skills, no wonder he is mentioned as one of the GOAT's.

SOOO many people miss the point...

I didn't say Gretzky is the face of the sport, I SAID that is what most people will say if you don't live in a hockey town.
If you pay little attention to hockey, who would you say? Remember - you have to pick someone.

If someone was to walk up to me and asked me 'who won the last Oscar for best actor?' I would have
no idea because I don't pay attention to it, so I would probably say DiCaprio.

It isn't a logic question, but then again, I have to remind myself you argue with me on EVERYTHING, LOL.

I feel that way about Max Verstappen. on the surface unlikeable, with the baggage of both his and his girlfriend’s families, but when I listen to what he says I almost always agree.

I REALLY don't like LeBron at all - I want my sports guys to stick to sports, if I
want to read politics I will look in the Politics pages.
BUT I also realize he IS one of the GOAT's - that I cannot deny.

You consider that arguing? Ultra sensitive today aren't we.....and, you are the one who argues my points. How is Jimmy G doing these days? Remember you attacked me when SF traded for him, and I said he was useless and injury prone? And you defended him? How do you feel about him now?
