NNO, we need more info on the extra F50's! How many more exactly made? Sold to who? What colors? What VINs? Euro or American specs? Pictures? But seriously How do you know that so many were made?
This was the F50 for sale currently at SVAG, right? http://siliconvalleyautogroup.com/ferrari_stock/ferrari_1902/photo_page.html
I suppose I have a vested interest in F50's, so I tend to file away anything that I come across. Way back in 2000, Marcel Massini wrote a VERY comprehensive 4 part series on the S/N's of F50 production. In those articles he listed 368 cars with known S/N's. There were an additional 30 cars where the S/N wasn't known at that time. So that makes a potential total of 398 F50's. Additionally, there are apparently as many as four cars that share S/N 99999, all of them prototypes. I wonder how many Enzo's they REALLY made? Were any RHD examples built for favoured clients?
gosh, how did they do that with so many people not even knowing while the same probably applies with the enzo
Because so many people have no interest in serial numbers... That's the only way to really document it and figure it out... Find an F50, take a picture, take a picture of the VIN, rinse and repeat...
The s/n 99999 cars have different keylock #s, otherwise it's impossible to recognize one from the other. I've heard that six RHD F50s were built for the Sultan of Brunei (or more probably his nephew) with s/n's in between the regular F50 sequence. I think there was one spotted in England a few years ago. Ciao, Peter
Marcel Massini is a member here correct? Where did he write them? A magazine, a thread? I would like to see these articles
Brunei post-production RHD F50s are: 107515, 107530, 107560 and 107575. Regular Brunei F50s are: 102852, 102902 and 103033. These last two were NOT converted to RHD. Marcel Massini
The only Brunei car not in the Ferrari Market Letter articles is # 102852. So adding that car plus the prototypes gives a total production of 402 cars. Is that correct Marcel?
Rosso Barchetta F50? I dont think Ive ever seen any pictures of an F50 in that car. Can anyone share some?
Marcel, i also have 107520 as a post production F50 and 103047 as a "pre-production"/regular F50 destined for Brunei (Colour - Silver) Can you confirm/deny? Regards Chris
The car was originally red and repainted Azzuro California at the request of the owner of the car. MM, I worked for Mr. Risi for three years and I know this car well. No F50 ever came out of the factory in Azzuro California........I have seen the album that chronicles the transformation of the car from red to Azzuro...And like a previous post above, the paint is actually better than what comes from the factory. The carbon fiber did not show through as much .
KS-Autohandel in Germany has got a new (LHD) F50 from the sultan: 'Post production F50 especially built for royal highness in Asia. European papers. New just delivery mileage. Does anyone have pictures of 107515? There's an ad in a Nov '98 DuPont I have that had it for sale for $495,000. "Euro version new & unregistered with zero miles. Red/Black."
What does this tidbit mean? "Sunday, 30 April, 2006 A 355 will come around on you if you're not careful."
