    Harald- Very interesting question. The Assembly Number was variously identified as Ferrari Factory Data and other names before the 456M owners manuals finally identified it as Assembly Number, usually in the engine compartment for the later cars.

    Is it in data plate A, below? To be honest, my old Daytona was Assembly Number 364, but I had no clue what that was when I owned the car or where it was located.

    Very important for later cars, because AN is how they note parts upgrades instead of serial numbers on some cars.

    I'm curious where that info is too, would it have been on the right hand plate in the pic below where the 'XXX' is (bottom stamping below 'ANNEE MODELE') ?
