Hello Folks, Here are a few after photos illustrating a bit of our relentless attention to detail For the HVAC dials, we remove the illuminated window piece, refinish the dial and then refinish the window piece with a special white so it illuminates at night per the original The third photo illustrates the illumination Thanks for checking this out Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Folks, So, when we started providing refinishing we also created our own HVAC overlays for the 355 model because we wanted a more accurate overlay and one that had proper graphics, fonts and texture to match our coatings. Until we created our overlay, only one other option was on the market and while it was decent, the fonts, graphics and other attributes just were not up to our standards. We released our 355 overlays approx 1.5 years ago. And, while they are correct in graphics, we still were not happy with the ultimate finish which is a function of the technology used to produce these: Graphic overlays are silk screened on plastic sheet material from the back side. It's very hard to get a piece of plastic to match a painted finish. So, we recently created the art work for 550 HVAC overlays and had some discussions with our vendor that produces these. They proposed a material that is a much closer match to our coatings and the answer is a soft touch material. We really did not want a soft touch but that was the only option and method to get a finish as close to our coatings as possible. We are very pleased with the results and will be posting better photos to come and will get these on our website soon. Our vendor has used this material for fork truck panels and they have been in the field for many years with no failure of the soft touch coating. However, we will provide a 5 year warranty on these for bubbling or getting sticky which we don't anticipate being an issue. I've posted a photo of our current 355 overlay for comparison. These will be also offered in the soft touch material within a few weeks. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Folks - our Gen 2 355 Overlays arrived today and were 100% inspected for quality and every one passed. It's going to be a couple weeks before we get this on our website and online store so if anyone has interest in the meantime, please send me an email. Thanks
I'll definitely replace mine for the updated one for a more authentic look. Can't wait to see them. Thanks Dave.
Thanks, Keith. For the best results, it's advisable that we do the service turn key (refinish the dials and buttons) then all will match near perfect as you see with the 550 posted above.
Finally got a chance to reinstall the center console and vents, most refinished by Dave but some oem (new - I know, will have to eventually refinish, but challenge you to even tell the difference.) Looks like it’s 1997 again and the refinish and laser tech work by Dave are just fantastic in person - photos really don’t do it justice...also framed the bespoke floor Matts by Andrew at Exoticare...stunning in tone on tone Alcantara with embroidered Cavallino...thanks much to this community for where I find all these great resources and clever people! Soooooo Whats the chance you can make them blue?? Ha ha I hope i get the new ones. One benefit of procrastination I guess. Cool stuff Dave.
Hi Grant, yes, you will get the new ones. For some time now, all we install when doing a turnkey panel is the Gen II overlays.
