So does the $6599 include everything needed or are there additional parts (glass, latches etc.)?

I suspect you guys will be very successful with this product.

$6599.00 includes everything you need to turn your Spider into a Berlinetta.
You just need to add paint, fasten windows, attach weather stripping and OFF YOU GO!!!!

Is there a video/demonstration of how to put the top on/take it off available?

There is no video. If there was, it would be about a 15 second long video as it could not be easier to put on. Right under the B-Pillars inside the car there is a bolt which fastens the convertible top to your 355. Undo that bolt, put the bracket on top, insert bolt back in tighten on either side and lock lown. (it is adjustable) Literally put the removable hard top on using the existing (female locating holes) on the inside of the windshield where you rag top locates, lock down with the levers, and you are good to go.
It is extremely easy. Instructions will be included in the packaging.

That sounds good. What about the actual soft top? Does it just stay in the 'open' (behind the seat) position the entire time?
Also, how is wind resistance and noise on highway speeds?
Finally (I know, I ask wayy too much), what is the weight difference in the standard and CF versions?

Simply retract the soft top fully (behind the seat) and you are ready to install. No resistance and very little noise at high speeds at all. CF version is roughly the same.

So if the cf version is roughly the same weight, what's the benefit?

Would you be willing to allow a group buy at a discounted price? How many would you need for a price of about USD 3999? For USD 4999? Maybe we could get a group of interested buyers on FChat.

The benefits are personal. It is a bit lighter and it looks waaaaaay cooler.

The difference in weight is 5-10 lbs bringing the weight to approximately 30 lbs.
The Carbon Fiber Top would be more rigid and you would not have to paint it.
It has a CARBON FIBER RACE FINISH.

I think that slashing 4-5K USD from the original price is already impresive.

Why the rush, this is no $200 purchase and people (especially in this economy) are not just sitting on $6k in their back pockets...

I am quite sure you will sell a good number of these - just be a little more patient!

Gus, Since I introduced "Factory direct Pricing", many people jumped on board and challenged. I called, then silence. Not at all worried Brother. I made 2 Ferrari's with a revolutionary Removable Hard Top, which has never been done with or to a Ferrari. This is a compliment to a 355 Spider. Need I say more?
    Let's go!
What year was YOUR 355 Spider????

Are any of these available ? I have a 99 355 Spider - have completed complete mechanical restoration and am now addressing cosmetics and would be interested in a hard top option.

    Thanks,
    CF

The idea was indeed a good one and a viable business opportunity. However, these cars went from being worth 90k to 50k in just a few short years which makes it less likely someone would spend 6k on an aftermarket item such as this.

Certainly agree. The 355 will likely trend up in value over the next 5 years. It is one of the very best looking Ferrari's every built. It takes a good $25-$30K to sort through the known issues in order to bring it up to its intended specifications. I have put $30K into mine in the first 18 months of ownership, but I now know exactly what I have and just about every possible point of potential trouble or point of failure has been addressed. I opted to fully restore my 355 in lieu of moving to a 360 or 430. You just cannot beat the look or the lines. It has aged better than the 360 in my opinion. Not to ding the 360, it is also a great car.

Carl, I'm in the exact same boat as you. I spent 30k in 8 months to restore mine. It was left parked outside exposed to the elements and had been neglected. Now it's back to full glory. I doucmented the entire story here on fchat:

Congrats on your success. You should be very proud of owning such a fine automobile. I am posting pictures shortly of the engine out service... I had the engine bay cleaned and restored and had the valve covers and air boxes painted as well. I went well beyond the "major service" including replacement of the F1 Pump and F1 sensor as well as a new clutch. Engine mounts and valves included... I am getting it back in a couple of days.

The brake calipers were painted the appropriate red and re-labeled. The original wheels were refinished and new center caps added.... wrapped in new Pirellis...

    Will post finished pictures soon.
