    Good morning and happy Friday.

My 3.2 Coupe drones on the highway and after (finally) using it more I had a strong suspicion that the muffler wasn't stock. Comparing mine to this https://redbaycars.com/onewebmedia/MondialQV/deel2/IMG_0588.jpg confirmed that my car has a different set-up.

Any suggestions on either a good for long trips factory alternative, or should I be thinking about tracking down a second-hand OEM muffler?

Thanks in advance for any coaching.

What does yours look like? Do you have a Tubi installed before you bought it? Is it a "bubba'd" aftermarket?

I have an extra OEM muffler for an ‘87 3.2 Mondial. I’m not super excited to sell but PM me if interested. These are rare birds.

I might be interested in the take-off depending on what it is (per my question above).

I see you are from California...so a muffler like this

The muffler on that redbay picture is for a Euro car.

Thank you gentlemen so appreciate the responses. I am on holiday for a while, but will document what I have and post it here. If I do end up replacing it be quite happy to help someone else out with my existing one in the community here.

After some education (and fun conversation) with @jgoodman I now understand that I actually have a USA market OEM muffler.

So good news on that I suppose, but that has me wondering if there are any good options on backing the highway speed noise down some. Any ideas? Am I looking at a bespoke set up?

    Thanks!
