    • 4 FACTORY FRESH BUMPERS, BRAND NEW, packaging never opened, 246 DINO Ferrari bumpers for sale.
    • HISTORY: In 1979, at the age of 19, I bought my first Ferrari therein Modena Italy. Knowing that I would have to bring the car up to DOT and EPA specs I went to the Ferrari factory in Maranello and bought 4 extra bumpers (because I was afraid I might screw things up when modifying the existing bumpers while attempting to meet DOT specs). These historic pieces of Ferrari art work are still in the factory plastic and wrapping tape, and they have never been touched by human hands since the summer of 1979.
    • Price: $8000

I believe the forum will ask you to post a price for any “for sale” item.

Good question Peter, these are bolt-on bumper pieces that fit the 246 GT and GTS model Dino Ferrari from the year 1969 to 1974.

John, I do not think they will fit the 206, or the L series as they appear too thick around.
That would start applying to mid 1970 models,
and if they will , on the more numerous M, and E series.
Only unpacking one and getting proper dimensions posted, will definitely confirm
    the application.

    GLWS!

I agree, they will NOT fit a 206 model

But it is my understanding that Europeans 246 Dino were even produced in late 1969, after the traditional Italian August vacation time period

I agree John, they were L series, and as the 206, they had the thin bumpers. Mine, an L series, was born in early 1970

It would be interesting to see if your bumpers have the brackets for the 2 tube assembly (USA), or the single one (EU).
They must have part numbers somewhere on the 'classical Italian packaging'. :)

    Hi John Thomas,

I feel 100% safe to say, Ferrari sold you what they thought you wanted and what you thought you would need.

They would Do the same thing today.

This sounds bad, but is not meant to be, but who knows what you received.

Your story about YOUR Dino would help us all understand better. Ferrari Factory probably knew little about the actual Dino you had, and even less about what was right for it, given they wouldn’t go digging through records.....

    Can you take better pics?

OR EVEN BETTER.... try and figure out what you had?

    Shawn

    Hello Alberto,
These are simple replacement bumpers for the 246 Dino European version of 1972, which was my car. There is a simple and single bolt-on bracket. There are no tube attachments. These could certainly be adapted in some manner but it would be a simple bolt-on process.

    Hello Shawn,

I appreciate your observation, but I am sorry to say that it is incorrect.

This is very simple and is not mysterious at all, I had a 1972 European version 246 GT.

I asked the factory parts guy for replacement bumpers for this same European version 246 GT. I did NOT ask for American version bumpers.

I got what I asked for and expected to get, plain and simple. These are the simple bracket bolt-on Euro bumpers.

If someone is looking for bumpers to use on a US version car, with the tube attachments, these will NOT work unless they are modified.
