    What do you do when your factory paint clear coat starts to separate. Is there a fix or is it over?

    What color? What part of the car?

    I've never heard of clear coat flaking off, if that's what happening. Usually it gets worn away by overzealous detailers.

    Depends on how far gone it is. I've seen cases where they can wet sand the area and reapply a clear coat. If done well and correctly, you won't be able to tell it was done.
