And why close this thread? We should let it live on in testamony that you don't have to own a ferrari or have great ferrari stories to tell to be here and participate. Just don't lie!!! In addition, Matt took great pride in bashing and outing others every chance he got. His attacks on members is vast, and he deserves every negative comment that comes along.
Damn, I'm just SHOCKED!! I just heard about how this thread turned out tonight. I don't log in here, simply because I'm a lowly 400i owner, but another SoCal 308 owner told me what had happened. I was the guy who spent a day with good 'ol Matt down at the LA auto show, and I'm scratching my head wondering how he hoodwinked the president of Ferrari NA into accepting a car he had already sold! Adam stated he KNEW the car was on its way already. And did Matt send off an empty container to Italy? I hadn't thought Matt's car had 74,000 miles on it. And who's Mario? Some scammer? And the guy he sold it to just happens to live in the same town as Matt? Valencia is not that big of a town, certainbly not chock full of Ferraris. This raises more questions than it has answers to. If this whole thread was BS, the set up sure was long and involved, and it includes the presedent of Ferrari North America. How the hell did Matt pull that one off? Does anyone know where the ebay car is now? The auction was pulled for some reason, after being listed twice. My brain hurts!
Short and sweet. Anyone here surprised at how this turned out? Who'd a thunk it that Matt would have his own Ferrari restoration fantasy league. DM
I agree his attacks on other legitimate members here, Venusone in particular were entirely uncalled for.... He needs some time on the couch with a shrink, IMO.....
I need two blue/white 1977 Veglia clocks, working non working ok..... Let's actually RESTORE a few 308GTBs on this thread!!!! And the one in the barn needs an alternator rebuild and a battery ....no worries there!
Based on me saying you guys were giving him ****, and his information and previous attacks on others, he should be given a lifetime ban.
the thing is, he has multiple accounts, and can mask IPs. He would just reinvent himself as someone else, and the process will begin again. He's pathetic.
I thought we debunked the masked IP myth. OR, is the myth itself a myth?? Or, who is that masked man? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Kraig, In your email a few days ago, you said that you talked to Matt and he said that he still has the car and the auction was a scam. Do you really believe this to be true?
If it was really a scammer, then Matt wouldn't have been the coward that he has shown himself to be. He would have come in, and posted that it was a scam and defended himself. Kraig was Matt's reason something along the lines of some person trying to assassinate his character? If it was, he already played that card before. If you have not already, click on the link the redhead posted concerning an RX8...
I don't think he should be banned or any official action. We should all forgive him and move on. What has unfolded here is enough embarassment to be punitive if people feel that is necessary. Just that it is known, I don't actually have anything personal with Matt nor do I have any grudge or vendetta with him. I was tired of feeling like he was being deceptive to the board - falling back into his previous pattern of yarn-spinning - and considering his attacks on other users, he deserved to have a public "intervention." Again, it's sad because if he was just a sociable, regular guy with a 308 people would like him.
Pretending to have a Ferrari isn't hard to believe. I'm waiting for someone to pretend they have a Lotus. THAT'S the definition of insanity. Ken

Jonas from Denmark did exactly that way back when he first joined. Didn't take long for that to be sniffed out...
There are confidentiality agreements in all kinds of situations that don't involve lawyers or doctors. Bidding on a government contract, applying for a job with an engineering firm or submitting a film proposal to Discovery channel can all involve agreeing to keep things a secret and you could get sued if you didn't. All it takes is a piece of paper spelling out that all parties agree to a certain set of conditions. Not to mention, some people just have morals and when they agree to keep something to themselves they do! I think wax and Wayne are doing the right thing. Birdman
Yes, but those are not legal privileges - that's confidentiality agreed to in a contract. Different animal.
