Am I missing an establish thread? I can not find, anywhere on the Internet, where the OEM stereo amplifier is on a 360 that is not equipped with the Hi-Fi option. Is there not one?
It looks like the HF amp is under the front of the center console (?) but that's all I can find.
I feel like I'm just being blind, because no way am I that first person to ask this.

That's all you can find on FChat or that's all you can find on your car?

The hifi option adds an amp under the front of the center console.

Mine uses the power from the Alpine deck the PO installed when I bought the car.

Scuderia Audio has a product that includes an exact replica of the factory "cradle" that holds the factory amp, but instead holds a high-powered, aftermarket amp. Anyone who jumps into your car will see the cradle and think they have the factory hi-fi setup until you turn up the volume and blow their head off. :)

Yes, it is. The info I found for the HF option doesn't help me, as I don't have it... but reading the post above yours: I see I have no amp, which would explain why I could find nothing LOL

Perfect. That makes things SO much easier.

A couple of my friends own auto stereo/alarm shops and one is a rep for a manufacturer.. It seems any amp small enough to fit in the OEM spot really doesn't do any good. The OEM "sub" was pretty much useless, so that little baby amp "worked".

I only need the stereo for long road trips, with windows up, so deck power to the speakers I'm putting in should do well enough. I may even go ahead and swap out the tweeters and install my crossovers as I think my distortion may be actually be coming from blown tweeters. I'll be finding out soon.

Thanks for all the posts, guys!

A JL Audio MX600/3 amplifier easily fits into the OEM cradle, delivering 100 Watts per door and 400 Watts to a subwoofer (or two). I have one in my personal 360. Turning up the volume with the right song will make the entire car shake from the distortion free sound pressure.
