I was doing some searching on prior f-chat threads and discovered a possible glitch. My family and I are going to Europe in August and I wanted to get a Factory tour. I saw in another thread that the factory is closed in August. Am I in trouble?

You are probably referring to Montana, down the street (via Nazionale) from Il Cavallino. But, at least half the restaurants in the area are filled with all manner of Ferrari memorabilia...

I visited Italy at the end of July last year. I arrived July 26th. Turns out that the August shut down starts at the end if July. Oh well. I got to tour Maserati, Lamborghini, Ducati and did visit the outside of the Ferrari factory, as well as the museum and peeping through the gates of Fiorano. Still lots to see!

    :D

Similarly, the Munich Oktoberfest starts in September! Actually they've already started building it up a few weeks ago, about a three-minute walk from where I am sitting now.

But indeed, even with the factory closed, Maranello is still worth a visit in August. Also the new Museum Casa Enzo Ferrari in Modena is very nice, especially if you have a general interest in classic Italian cars.
