I just returned from a great time in Maranello. Visited the new Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena and of course the Maranello museum.
Enjoyed the Factory tour which is over the top. My first visit was in 1965 with a few in between. Last was in 2000, everything is bigger and better.
If anybody has any questions on where to stay and other fun things to do, ask away.

That's great, thanks John! Can you please explain the process... do you have to be an owner? Does it cost anything to visit (other than getting there, accommodations, etc.)? Do you have to choose which part you visit or is there a packaged all around tour? What does the tour entail? Etc... :)

Did you arrange the factory tour through your local dealership? I am planning to do this next year.

I would be very interested in getting details on how to arrange a visit, best time to go?, where to stay?, can I take my two kids?, can you drive on the track? Etc etc

You arrange it through the dealer. Mine was a bit unresponsive at first so a call to Ferrari Concierge fixed that. I went July 2012, it was a good time of year. Nobody under 16 can go and there are no pictures allowed in the factory, they actually lock cameras up. Budget a couple hours for the tour. Others disagree but we felt the Planet Hotel across the street was dated, so I will try Maranello Village when I return. We did not go on the track but did visit the trackside warehouse where the Corsa Clienti cars are stored.

One thing to do--make the short drive to Castelvetro and dine at Il Cappero alle Mura one of the best dining experiences we had in a land of world class restaurants.

Others will chime in I am sure and there are lots of threads here on the Factory Tour.

I visited the factory Oct.13. You must own a Ferrari, and apply through a dealer. Must have proof of ownership. The tour is free, apply 2 months in advance, or you might not get in. Italy shuts down in August. Stayed in Maranello village. It is not with in walking distance of the factory. Free museum entry and discount at Ferrari store with authorized factory tour. Saw the Ferrari owners cars stored in special part of factory. You can purchase a 2 year old F1 race car!!!! You can go on u-tube and watch How its Made (FF) and get a free factory tour.

John, here's a very mundane question, where can you park for the whole day? I did a google drive around the area and all the signs seemed to read either 60 or 90 minuti.

Also we're going in the middle of April and have the 2:30 tour. I am guessing we would have to go to the museum first, also possibly the store. Do you know if I would be able to go to the factory to pick up the passes for the museum and the store discount?

Park at the museum; very large free parking. The factory tour starts and ends at the museum.
After the factory tour is when you receive a gift and the store discount.
I was there in March 2012; glad to answer any questions.

Hotel Real Fini is also very good. I stayed there in May of 2012 and would definitely stay again.

Kevin, I read your thread some time ago. I recall a pic of you and your family outside the factory gate entrance. That entrance is the address on my confirmation notice. It reads "Your Factory tour will commence at Ferrari main reception which is located at Via Abetone Inferiore 4 in Maranello".

I guess they must have changed the tour route since you last visited. Nonetheless, parking at the museum is a good tip. Thanks!

I know this subject has been posted numerous times, I can't seem to find the threads via search. I even posted in one of them.

So looks like I'll be going to Italy, and I would like to visit the factory. However, I am bringing my kids - are kids not allowed?

I gather I do need to register via a dealer - is that still the case? I guess I would go to my local dealer (although I purchased my car from a private owner), but just need to understand.

Final dates aren't set, but obviously I need to nail that down before reaching out to the dealer...correct?

Last question - there's a ton of stuff to do - what's a "can't miss" and what might be less interesting?

All your questions have already been answered in this thread as far as I can see with one exception but since you have apparently not read this thread there seems little point in responding to it since you won't read it !

Context young buck. I searched on threads and had quite a few, so jumped to this one being most recent.

After reading literally 100's of posts that didn't yield my answer, what would be the odds that this thread would be different?

No matter - a simple "see the answers above" would have been sufficient.

I was there Feb 25, 2014. The instructions said to go to the Main Gate which is across from the Ferrari Store. I parked there with no problems, it was 9:30 am.
After the Tour you can show your Factory Tour Pass and then receive the 20% discount. If you have the printed instructions for the tour, the store might honor the discount. Best plan would be to select you items and ask them to hold the items until after the Tour.

You Tour Pass will also provide free entry to the Museum.

The "Via Abetone Inferiore" address is correct for Ferrari Tour Recption.

A great store for book and all kind of Ferrari items is SHOPPING FORMULA 1. English spoken. It's next to the Cavalino Restaurant which is across from the Factory.

I stayed at the Real Fini Hotel. Nice hotel, good rates and make sure to look in the glass cases in the lobby. A few doors down is a large oriental buffet, you will be surprised and full.

The tour DID include the Corsa Clienti building. Imagine a bldg with 50 Ferrari F1 cars from the last 15 years or so. It will take your great away.

Also new or just reopened is the ENZO FERRARI MUSEUM. It's in Modena and of course a must see.

One funny question to everybody. I had lunch at Montana Restaurant which is near the Factory (ask for directions). As I was leaving I noticed a very large red leather book with a metal Ferrari Horse. As I started to open I saw a DON'T TOUCH SIGN. A server told me it was a special Ferrari book and cost 30,000 euro. Does anybody know anything about that book. If you dine at Montana look for it and maybe the owner will give you a look.

Sorry to be out of order and poor spelling. It's 2 am in Fl. Hope this info helps.

I bought the Cavallino Rampante edition a while back and it is beautifully produced. It stays on one table as weighing 80 pounds it's not easy to move about.

I'm planning on a factory visit in May and believe the other factories/museums (Lambo, Maser, Pagani) are close to Ferrari. Does anybody know what the procedure is to visit the others?
