faded alacantara

The alacantara seat backs on my 16M are badly faded. Does anyone out there have any suggestions short of getting new seats from the factory. I have been told by many sources that this material cannot be dyed back to its original color. I am wondering if I am facing having the seats reupholstered, including the red logo stitching on the seat backs, which are also badly faded. California car. Any information sources will be appreciated.

 

I have purchased the black Alcantera material (color code 9040) from Gulf Fabrics in Tampa, Fla. 8138752707. www.gulffabrics.com. As of a couple of months ago the black color has been out of stock due to a backup of orders from the manufacturer in Italy. but that may have changed. I would think a good upholstery shop could reupholster your seats.
