I'm looking for a 456M GTA. In fact, I saw a 2001 of which the exterior was in Argento Nurburgring, it seemed OK to me except that part of the exterior paint was fading out. The corrent owner said there was no accident to the car and no re-painting had been done. Anything I can do to restore the color except repainting the whole car? Thank you very much.

It might be oxidized from improper storage... hard to tell without pictures. Have any pictures?

If the paint's intact, but oxidized, it can be rescued by a proper detailer.

    Hi, Gary,

Thank you very much for your reply and I'm sorry to inform that the problem is much worse than what I was expecting. Mechanics from an anthorized dealer said it was not uncommon for those light color 456 and it was caused by the heat from the engine. The only solution is to repaint the car. Too bad.

    Best regards,
    Victor.

You're most welcome Victor. Sorry to hear about the 456. That's not an unusual problem, heat from the motor damaging the hood, but would the whole car need to be repainted? Maybe just the hood needs the respray?

    Best of luck...

    Hi, Gary,

Thank you very much. Besides the hood, there is fading out on part of the left front, and, that's why I thought the best solution was to repaint the whole car in order to avoid any color variation. However, I've decided not to buy this 456 because it's just not feasible for me to pay extra money and time for the repaint.

    Cheers,
    Victor.
