I'm looking for a 456M GTA. In fact, I saw a 2001 of which the exterior was in Argento Nurburgring, it seemed OK to me except that part of the exterior paint was fading out. The corrent owner said there was no accident to the car and no re-painting had been done. Anything I can do to restore the color except repainting the whole car? Thank you very much.

I had my F355 go through a Protech (www.protech.mc) paint treatment.

My car was starting to go dull and although polishing brought out the colour when I picked up the car from the Protech dealer I was blown away! The Red was back to int's former glory ! What more is that the inside of the car was also done and the leather and trim looked outstanding. Shine is guaranteed up to 5 years depending on age of car.

Once treatment is complete there are certain guidelines to follow when washing the car.

    Have also Protech'd my F360.

    Very happy.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I've asked the only local authorized dealer in Hong Kong and it was perhaps to the heat problem. Uneven heat distribution from the engine can cause the color in different material (says carbon and aluminium) to oxidize in different degree, especially in light color. Too bad, there is not much can be done to revitalize the silver colour in this case. Even worse, if I want to repaint the car, it'll cost me a large amount of money and time for the repaint. Therefore, I've now started searching another 456 in Hong Kong. Good luch to me.

    Cheers.

A car of that age should surely have a clear coat on it I would think.

Either way, the first thing to try is to get someone to do a paint correction on it (basically have the car machine polished). Not very expensive & should easily resolve the issue. You can do it yourself as long as you are patient.

Thank you very much. However, I haven't bought the car yet and I cannot do anything at this moment. I'm sure I'll keep on my search for a 456.
