    Hello:

I'm considering the purchace of the following:

90 TR (2 Owner Car - MI and CA)
Current owner - Past FCA President
    Almost perfect condition
    Silver w/ Red-Burgandy Interior-Dash (Special Order)
    11-12K Miles
Major Service (6-7K) within the last year/1K miles
New Factory 512TR Rims with Spacers/New Bolts
    Newer Tubi
Front Bumper Just Installed with Fresh Paint

The only worry I have is the interior-dash color - The car looks modern due to the color combo, however it made be harder to sell in the future when the silver/burgandy fad goes away.

WILLIAM H are you out there? What is a fair price? I have no idea what a TR actually is selling at (I hear of $$$ 45 to 60K +/-).

My TR has a burgundy interior, blk dash and trim, wht exterior. I like the red interior, it contrasts nicely to the basic exterior colors. Figure your 1990 is worth 65-68$ from what I have seen locally...

"The only worry I have is the interior-dash color - The car looks modern due to the color combo, however it made be harder to sell in the future when the silver/burgandy fad goes away."

PS. There is a silver/burgandy fad going on?! Did I miss it?!

Somewhere in the recesses of my heart, I hope that 20 years from now off-color ferraris will be more valuable then red. I mean - come on - 90% are red! I can see my ad print now:

"Custom color combo ... one of a kind ... rare ... 10k$ for special color ... Miami Vice White!"

Maybe I will adverstise it as one of the original Miami Vice cars...ok. I will stop dreaming now!

    That's not a $45~$50K TR -- what's the asking price?

The seller (private party) has not committed to a price, but is thinking the low $70K range.

Well, after the firestorm over 355 values in the FML, I'm almost reluctant to get involved in this discussion -- and I'm more of a cLDyE-ist so keep that in mind ;)

I think you are right to give a small debit for an unusual color -- even if not unattractive. The 512TR wheels and the Tubi are a plus, as is the recent service -- but discount that too -- you won't have any leverage with the Shop if something goes wrong.

One thing that can make a multi-$K value difference is the presence/absence/intactness of the precats and cats.

You've got to put this sample in the top end of TRs (5-lug, minimal miles, fresh service):

    $60K -- buy it now
    $65K -- hmmm
    $70K -- too much

    JM(maybe outdated)O

What are the Dealers asking these days for low-mile TRs?

My bad -- just realized that you're probably asking the other Steve M. (but I agree with his premise -- the high end TR price is set by the low end 512TR price minus some delta).
