My 328 is scheduled for Tubi installation next week. $2755 installed at a Maserati dealer. (They've serviced my car before and I like the quality of
    their work). Fair price? Thanks.

I got mine for $2200 or so, installed for another $250 or $350 a while back.

That's certainly not an unreasonable price. I had many dealers quote me that much just for the tubi system itself!

    Sounds fair.

My mechanic charges 4 hours for a Tubi installation & I know another mechanic that said it would be about 4 hours. This is for a TR, but a 328 should be similar.

I am poor though, so I am going to try & install it with a few F-Chatters tomorrow. :)

I think that sounds fair. I got a quote of $3,000 for a TUBI installed on my car. I know you can get it online for about $2,300. So your mechanic is covering his costs and making a few bucks... which he is entitled to.

I was wondering how much difference a Tubi makes & how does it sounds compaired to stock. Please, let me know what you think when all is done, Ron.

In the 328 about a 20% of sound improvement and in the Testarossa with tubi test pipes along with it I would say that besides listening to all the special sounds you can taste it too. Tubi alone is not enough you have to get the test pipes too.

Thank you for the responses. I feel better :).

Jerry, with 2 Fcars, you can't be poor bec. that would mean many of us would be poorer ;)!

Venusone, I will let you know. I think though that Testacojones is right, ie., to optimize the sound and power gain, a test pipe is a must.

    Thanks again everyone.

BTW: I DON'T WANT IT LOUDER. Just richer.
Done that, been there w/ my other sportscars. It's a fine mix that makes the perfect exaust note.

"Yes, the Burble sound on deceleration is normal, i wondered that to when i first got my Tubi. Also, that smell will go away after a while, i think it's just shipping oil coating in the exhaust system that will burn away.

Also, i notice a sound change in the Tubi after it is warmed up between 3K and 4K RPM, a nice rumble noise, especially going under an over pass how it echos back...

My Tubi was my best investment to my 328..." by Tod328GTS

    ______________________________________________________

The Tubi was finally installed. I drove about 65 miles back home. I noticed
the interior noise level was louder (but not obnoxiously).

I copied a quote by a fellow owner (Tod328) from another thread as I shared the same observation. The sound really comes to life when the RPM reaches 3500-4000. This was the best part and really put a smile on my face. Heard that bubbling sound, too. The car may be louder, but definitely not irritating. It is early to say, but I am very pleased.

Oh, and one other thing, the stock exhaust was much, much heavier than the Tubi!

Karen (Venusone), what are you waiting for?!

    Ron
