Unfortunately that is some of the risk when publicly soliciting feedback on a limited commodity. There's always a chance someone comfortable making the leap will swoop in. Good luck with your continued search. I'm sure the right car for you will turn up.

Agreed. Not my style, but the guy doesn't know me or owe me anything so no hard feelings.

Just kind of funny the guy posted a "let's all be nice" thread a few days ago. Ha!

Robb, the one who started that thread is NOT the one who bought this car.

There was another thread that a potential buyer started and I thought that he was being ridiculous with not posting the actual car when asking this and that about it before buying.

It seems like it is the prudent way to ask questions about cars you don't own yet on here.

I've had my '95 yellow GTB for almost two years - bought in Colorado. I didn't buy the PA car.

I just bought a '97 red GTS for my brother.

In both cases, I had to move VERY quickly to successfully buy the cars. I put a deposit down and agreed to a price pending a successful PPI.

You won't get a quality GTS OR GTB unless you are locked and loaded and not afraid to quickly pull the trigger. Period. You might get a week after the car pops up... Less if the price is noticeably less than the normal range.

After my deposit was received with the GTS, the seller received more than 10 offers from both European and US buyers. They were late to the party. The car had already received 4000 views when I saw it.

I received MANY PM's from other f-chat members that also looked "hard" at the GTB that I purchased. They wished me luck and said they missed a good opportunity. No harm no foul. No sour grapes.

If you want an easier process of buying a GTB or GTS: get a ticket to Germany. Plenty there. When it hits 25 years, bring it across.

We are here to help all who love the 355.

I PM'd the other member with the different thread also - to go buy the car. It looked nice. I gave him a range around 60k. I said not to wait too long...

At $50k a week later, it was going to go fast.
