I have located a used ANSA sports exhaust that will fit my ‘79 308 GT4. It belonged to a previous owner, and he would swap it on and off. He left it at the mechanic’s garage who will sell it to me. I am wondering what is a fair offer?

My last new ANSA was around $2K, but be aware they are not stainless, so a "used" one is not going to give you the life of a new unit.

Start at $500, it's gathering dust in the corner!

Not sure I follow the "swapping on and off" unless he had it on a '78 or newer model, requiring Catalyst at Inspection time...

Thanks Tex, I was thinking 500 sounded like an OK offer. You are right about the smog check - was a California car.
