I am fairly new to the N.O. area and have just bought my first Ferrari, is there an active Ferrari club chapter in the area?

Hi and welcome. Although I don't know specifically about the Ferrari club, I can tell you that the exotic scene around the area is pretty small. The foreign car guys generally hang together. I live on the northdhore as well and we have some enthusiasts in the area who like to get together for drives, lunch etc. I drive a Nissan GT-R but we usually have everything from bimmers to lambos show up.

Thanks for all the responses, I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. I actually do not yet have my car. It is being shipped from California, I spoke to the shipper this morning and was told that I should have it tomorrow morning. It is a 355GTS. My only hope is that it is as described so i will not have to spend a lot of time and money getting it sorted out.

I am guessing you saw the following phrases and it grabbed your attention:

    "355"

    "sorting it out"

    "time and money"

Let's not get Ric so scared that it ruins his delivery experience. I bought my 348 w/o a ppi and it worked out fine (for the first 3 miles when the engine threw a rod and trans fell apart) :) :) Just kidding, I'm sure it will be fine.

As in, "I sure hope my rear wheel doesn't fall off"?

(Don't worry Ric, that only happens to Mondials)

Thanks for the well wishes. I have been looking for a 355 for almost a year, so I have been reading all the threads about the expense of maintaining this car. I have lots and lots of stories about my attempts to find an honest car. This car seemed to fit the bill and all the stars lined up. I am sure I over paid but this one seemed to be well sorted out. I had a PPI and it went through with flying colors. Unloaded the vehicle off the truck last night. It appears to have been well represented (I put a whopping 44 miles on the car so we will see) the car looked good and everything worked, every button and light. Seems to run well but it is very loud, has a Tubi exhaust. I will post some photos once I get a chance to take some during the daylight hours.

Sorry I wasn't paying attention. I remember talking with you in Jackson, MS and seeing your very nice TR (Red). Oh, and I also remember your handy on the road electrical work too. Perhaps I should of said road side.:) Very good work indeed! I fear I would have been stranded for some time...

I think this would be Donny's 348 right?

Don't complain about the sound, the 355 with tubi was the best sounding car combo ever done, I;d love to drive behind you. I think the CS and scuderia come close to sounding as good, but nothing sounded as good as the F50, with the f1 header and tubi, going dow the straight at the track.

I was wondering about the sound. when I listen to the clips the "wail" sends goosebumps down my spine but while in the car the sound is more gutteral. I read another thread where someone explained that this is why 355 owners know where all the tunnels are so they can hear themselves.. :)
