You know how sometimes you just seem to have one of those weeks were verything just turns to crap? My girlfreind and I were having one of those until today.

    Part 1:
Last Saturday night on our way out to dinner I was pulling out from my parking spot and clipped the rear corner of a beautiful M3 parked beside me.. Ohh ****!
The owner wasn't around so I bolted...Ahh just kidding..
Anyways, I surveyed the damage to both cars. Mine (VW Passat) had a few scratches on the bumper. It was hard to tell which scratches were new as an errant hub cap that came flying over the I-80 median on a trip to Tahoe a month ago had done some damage..
The M3's Bumper was scratched, but worse, the bumper had pushed up and put a small dent in the the gaurds where they joined above the bumper. There was a patch of paint flaked off the bumber too.
Depressed by the amount of damage I had done and how my wallet was going to be considerably lighter in the near future, I wrote a note with my name and contact numbers on it expressing my deepest sorrow for damaging the owners beautiful M3, taped it to the drivers window and went off to dinner.
I didn't here from the M3 owner until today. He was very calm which surprised me to start with. He asked me how much damage did I do? I replied I don't know. While I was rummaging through my insurance papers he said, "I backed into a freind of my sons car last week". I asked him if that's when it got the dent and he said it was. He wasn't sure what damage I may had done (I did scratch up the bumper on his car) but since it was already damaged he just said forget about it! Turns out he is a top accident injury lawyer in town (Oh, Excellent!! I was thinking to myself) but his stongest point made was how appreciative he was that I had left a note.
I must say, my faith in humanity and particularly lawyers has been given a boost. (Sounds like I boosted his faith too.) This guy could have screwed me and said I did all the damage and I would have been none the wiser for not knowing it was already damaged.

    Part 2:
My girlfreind works for a Model Agency. She organized a fashion show benefitting the Red Cross Hurricane relief last week. It was manic but it all came together and the show was excellent and we raised some good money. Only thing was a $500 pair of shoes seemed to walk off (by themselves) and since they were supplied by a designer, my GF was responsible for them. She was about to write a personal check out today when, "voila", they turned up. Phew! We'll be having some Schramsburg tonight!

Thanks for reading my ramble. :)
