I went to a concours last weekend and saw a race car that I reported on a couple of years ago, where a mechanic on the car told me it was cut into scrap in the Sixties and buried so the sponsoring automaker wouldn't have to pay customs duties. So when I got home I looked at the program and they still listed it as a 1965 car. i can't call the mechanic, he died. To me it makes the concours fall a little bit in my respect that they got conned. The dying off of the team mecahnics from '65 means there's fewer folks that remember it was buried. I don't want to say what car is is' this is just a cautionary tale about how cars that old can be passed off as fakes when the history is lost...

It is. Shame but it seems all you need to restore an old car is the original vin tag..sometimes thats even fake but if you have a VIN and a title if the car is worth
Enough a reboied car will happen..
