Anyone playing/played these, any platform?
I got bored with it. Couldn't really get into the story, just wanted to start blowing things up. But its game of the year so prolly just need to be patient and give it more time.
I love Oblivion elder scrolls IV, I play it on the ps3. Great game, But curing vampire status is a major glitch. And most the game is. Still fun.
Yet to play Fallout 3. Oblivion I played on PC. Very nice graphics. The storyline or more so the side quests are interesting. Going thru the gates was the least fun part of the game, just running around doing random quests is where the fun is. I never finished the game due to a format... I didn't like the magic system. Its just a pain to cast any spell. With the PC version there are plenty of addons you can get that make the game even better.
I've played through Fallout 3 multiple times on my PS3. Excellent game. The first time you play it will be tough. The second time you'll know what you are doing and how to stay alive. The third time you can play it doing the opposite karma and different character type... etc. There are TONS of side quests that can really add to the game if you so choose, or you can just go with the main quests and finish relatively (albeit more with more difficulty) quickly.
I've played both. Both of them are fantastic RPGs in their own rights, but I thought Oblivion was slightly better. Fallout 3 gets a little repitative, especially if you try to do all the side quests and explore the extensive metro system. After awhile, all the indoor environments start to look the same. Oblivion on the other hand, is downright amazing if you have a computer capable of running it on max settings. The world never ceases to amaze me; the environments are varied and insanely detailed.
i cannot stress how jaded i am as a gamer, but i love and still play both on my special built pc. the many mods out there will keep you busy for a long time. i cannot count how many times i have played F3 end to end, and then added more mods, and started the whole game over. its that good. if you have the time to pass, i highly recommend both.
Both games are awesome. They are basically the same game - one set in a mythical past and one set in a apocalyptic future. Between the two, I would choose Oblivion. The ending in Fallout was a mistake, IMO.
I've done both on PC; F3 and Ob IV are the most addictive games I've ever played. It's interesting to see how the Oblivion gameplay and character creation system was translated to a totally different environment for Fallout. IMO, both great games. The idea of "beating the game" doesn't apply to either, as there are so many roleplaying and environmental options, especially with addons.
