After driving when my 296 is still warm in the garage and hooked up to the charger, at the rear of the engine it makes a loud blower sound, not unlike a vacuum cleaner. WTH is this??

P.S. It comes and goes over a period of hours and is not discussed in the Owner's Manual.

See the attached movie with the sound of the blower at driver's rear.

  6. It's normal. It'll turn on the fan and circulate the battery coolant to keep it at its ideal temperature.

All EV or PHEV do that when charging. It keeps the battery cool so the car doesn’t catch fire when it’s charging. Just like when you charge your phone and it gets hot so does the hybrid or EV system.

Thanks, sounds like it is cooling the inverter. But it is noticeable and loud.

It’s normal if the car is hot. I had it a few weeks ago.
