I'm wondering what if any reaction the fans will have at Spa?

Will we see "Down with McCheaters" banners alongside Eau Rouge?

Will the fans boo if FA or LH make the podium?

I hope it will be as embarassing a ceremony for McLaren as it was for Ferrari in Zeltweg when MS stole RB's victory. I hope there will be a lot of booing, whistling and thumbs down.

    Just my hateful two cents.

Lots of Tifosi booed at MS/Ferrari/Todt when they stole Ruben's victory in Zeltweg. And I would expect a lot of people (including McLaren fans) being upset right now about the injust verdict from yesterday and about the general way McLaren behaved itself this year.

This doesn't mean that FA and LH aren't fantastic drivers (they are), but after yesterday's findings IMHO they have no right to participate in this year's championship. They got away because they were given immunity. Had it not been for that, they wouldn't be driving for McLaren this year anymore. Hence if they manage a podium, I would expect people to boo.

Yes I can go along with that.

I suppose I read it as- I am booing you lewis but will you sign this program.. I am wearing a gum shield..;)

Mclaren got there just desert the more I hear the more I think the punishment fitted the crime even Bernie said they were lucky they are still racing.. I hope it can be put to bed I still want them in the F1 to beat...

If either of them were truly great they would sit the remaining races.

If Hamilton skipped the remaning races, it would add MUCH more to his reputation than winning the title with a cheating team. He would be known as the rookie who sacrificed his first title for the sake of sportsmanship forever.

If I'd bump into Massa even I would ask him for a signature. I have a hard time believing people who say they walked away from an encounter like this simply because they didn't like the driver.

The FIA said at the first trial that they would exclude McLaren if they find any proof. Well that proof has been found, yet the team is still racing. McLaren is the real winner in this and FIA lost its face. Again.

+1...they have contracts...but yes, test drivers can do the job.

aint gonna happen but It´ll be remarkable gesture, for the fans, for the sport, for the rest of the fellow drivers...

    Very good point.

He'd be on a Stirling Moss/Gilles Villeneuve level instantly.

I was at Spa today, and i saw nothing, no banners, no boohs when FA or LA came into the pits or even at the Eau Rouge. But maybe tomorrow and Sunday, when there are more people at the track!!!
I think, that the most of the people are fascinated to see the F1 on this stunning circuit and don't think about this, but we will see!!!

    Hmm, interesting.

I think most of the Ferrari fans that used to come to Spa were the Germans supporting MS. They're staying home now. So maybe the crowd there is now less Ferrari oriented?

I agree but it makes better viewing figures with him in it and thats what seems to account for them still in it . As regards FA I really have had to eat my words with the toe rag ...

sorry not good english... FA has gone so low in my opinion as i had thought he was alright as a person..

+1 and Even you would? The drivers of F1, are the best of the best. As much as we would like to think of ourselves, as accomplished and competent, the worst drivers of F1, would make any of us look like sloths on a track. I don't generally request autographs, but I would greet any F1 driver, that I consider a gentleman, warmly and with respect.

Absolutely, in a nutshell. If they are to be excluded from the constructor's championship, they should be excluded from the racing. If they have found, that MM has realized a competitive advantage, from the ill gotten information, it remains an advantage. Why should they be allowed to further cloud the season. The mere presence of their cars on the track, in effect penalizes all other participants.

Yes and Mercedes, Vodaphone, Bernie etc.

You' re right. I only saw fans from Belgium an Nederlands, an some british fans, but really no german fans or cars with german plate. And i saw a lot of Mclaren flags, tshirts, caps and so far.

I only saw a german truck, who belongs to a Schumi-SuperFan i think, i will upload some pics of it later.

 Funny thing is both Stirling Moss and Jacky Stewart have both come out slamming the FIA's decision. http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_2726982,00.html

Villeneuve and Senna coudn't be reached for comment.

Somehow I can imagine what Senna's answer would have been...after all they made him fly from Brazil to Paris to apologize or he'd loose his super license.

Maybe the Belgians will belt the McLarens with beer cans like the NASCAR fans and Jeff Gordon.

I would not boo them but I wouldn't give the time of day if either of the McCheater drivers made the podium.

My commitment to being a Tifosi is the only motivation for me to tune in and watch a F1 race right now due to being so disgusted with all this garbage.

    Signed,

Nothing was quite like Indy with 6 cars going round and round and round...I was disgusted with the drivers who took part in the the parade lap, all basically knowing what was about to transpire. It was lucky they were dealing with F1 fans that day. If it had been Nascar folk, the catchfencing would have been scaled. On second thought, make that lifted.

    F1 fans are civilized.

Only place they could have had a problem is Italy...that's why they waited until after the Italian GP to give their verdict IMVHO. ;)

Exactly, and until this is a total meltdown there are still all of the cars on the track in what is one of the most exciting seasons in a long time, racing in the morning at the finest circut in the world. Look at the posts here. Sites were freezing up on Friday.

Kimi flat out to a new record in Q2. LH wonder boy in 6th. You stole my secrets but they quit working and I'm going to turn you in if you don't take your secrets back!

HA HA, Froza Ferrari! Froza Kimi!

I have been drinking some very fine Cab.

    Thank You
