I would have posted this in General Ferrari discussion but know it will never happen without a billion dollars....

For many years I grew up on the old school Ferrari/Lamborghini.....Testarossa/Boxer/308, Countach/Diablo.

Naturally aspirated motor, gated shifter, no power steering. Hard core, old school.

I've always desired seeing a modern day hypercar (or even just a "standard" exotic in the 458 mold) that was built this way.

To cut to the chase, could Pagani ever reasonably make a 21st century F50/McLaren F1?

Big V12, stickshift transmission (gate not necessary....beggars can't be choosers), and the ever elusive unassisted steering?

Many have told me that the more aggressive chassis setups and steering ratios would preclude the ability to delete power steering from these cars, especially as the curb weights and tire sizes have gone up. :(

I'd like to be a little stubborn and respectfully disagree unless a trusted Automotive Engineer could set me straight, since we had F1 race cars without power steering for quite some time.

Here's an area where I'm willing to compromise.....maybe 235 or 245s up front at the widest. Maybe a fast but not super fast steering ratio....

Just seems like a bunch of overrated worrying to me.

Pagani is the only company with the balls to make cars like this.

I'm just trying to bridge the gap between the Lotus Elise/Exige, Alfa Romeo 4C, Caterham 7 cars and exotics.

You could probably have Ferrari Special Projects build you a car. If you are prepared to pay

Start with a Spyker C8 and see if you like it. They advertise "no driver assist" technology… except ABS… I know it only has a V8, but try one before you take the plunge on a bespoke build.
