Exhaust all depends on what sounds good to you. I am a big fan of Tubi. Not too loud that my neighbors would hate me, no drone at any RPM and very well made.

Lots of choices out there. Capristo sounds good, Larini sounds good, Fabspeed sounds good. So search Youtube and or find someone local that has one installed on a Ferrari 360 and listen in person.

I havent made any videos yet but I will do soon and will post it here.

Here is one local Seattle guy that has a 360 CS with Tubi exhaust: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM2RIaaelzI

    Here's Capristo Stage 3 on a 360: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STXAATq3r00

    Here's Larini Exhaust on a 360: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NcL_6KYDJA

    Here's a Fabspeed exhaust on a 360: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DETlYdi-1no

Now for the million dollar question, are nice 360 going up or down in value? I have a nice low mi. 308 that I know is not going down in value but I would love something faster and more modern. Is now a good time to make the switch or are the 360's going to drop further before rebounding? Thanks Fred

What a great write-up. Took lots of effort and thought and is a great service. It is surprising how some can only find fault with such great work. If you have better info just say so. CIAO

Fred, that is a hard thing to figure out but I think if you can jump models and get into a good car you will feel like you did it right. If you get a chance do what it takes to get a ride in a 360, if you can... drive one.

For those here looking for their 360/430... please do something before you even go online to shop...

read the ****ing manual! It will explain so much about the car. A surprising number of owners haven't, and will eliminate 50% of your questions during car ownership.

    I agree 1,000%

When I decided I will be buying a 360 first thing I did was read all the posts here, then downloaded the owners manual and read it front to back twice.

When it was time for me to buy the car and drive it home I was already knowledgeable on all the controls and features of the car.
Boy did I have fun driving home that 850 miles.

The only thing I had to really learn and get used to is the F1 transmission.
On my 2009 BMW M6 I can mash the throttle and do launch control and the clutch will immediately grab with no slippage. No burning clutch smell.

On a 360 F1 if you mash the pedal during initial take off you will burn your clutch as it doesnt grab instantly. You will smell the clutch burning.

Took me almost a month to learn the F1 transmission by myself and with inputs from board members here is to allow the clutch to fully engage first before full throttle to avoid burning the clutch.

After owning my 360 now for 5 months and 6,000 miles - no more clutch burning during any take off.

The technique I learned is to "blip' the throttle to make the clutch grab / engage quickly, then once you feel (you will feel it) the clutch is fully engaged - go have fun all you want from gear to gear.

IMO 360s will continue to fall but just slightly as most of the depreciation is out.
Look at the 355 and 348 prices as they are the previous generations to see what may happen in the future. They are not rising either.
Now compare the 360 prices to the 430 and 458 two generations ahead.

I had a 308 and loved it for what it was; an old school but SLOW car.

360 CSs are a totally different ball of wax. They are starting to climb now.

IMO sell the 308 and get a 360 and pay the small difference in economic loss over time but gain a significant amount of performance.

There is a blue spider with @20K miles that just came up on autotrader for <$70K

I have Tubi on one of mine and I love the sound. Does anyone think there is a better sounding exhaust that I should buy instead? It is on my 1995 348 Spider?

Now that we're nearing the end of 2014, how do your 360 enthusiasts feel about the relative market-pricing on 360s? I'm a low-miles-per-year driver, and my love for the 360 is bringing me closer and closer to a purchase. While I'm not completely controlled by cost, I feel now may be a good time to make a move on a 360, thoughts?

It seems you can buy a good example in the $60s easily now. If you can afford that, then take the plunge!

I'm seeing the same. I really wonder how much lower nice 360's will slip in price? I suppose they will keep getting nudged lower as the 430's head the same direction. But to what end? The 360 is unquestionably a modern exotic machine, that stands in the same room as any current car on style, sound, and performance to some extent.

The KEY issue for me, is locating the correct F-mechanic in the DFW area, and building a relationship with that person (i.e., regular coffee delivery, lunches, gifts on birthdays, etc.). I look forward to pampering my 360 mechanic...but I have to locate that person in my area, before purchasing a 360.

I posted in the Texas sub-forum about this topic, hopefully I'll get some feedback there!

    Cheers,

    --Scott

I disagree that you can buy "a good example in the 60s easily". Yes.. there are 360s that can be bought in the 60s... but they are going to be higher mileage.... lack of options, no maintenance type of vehicles also in non red, black, yellow color. They may also be auction vehicles. I think a good, well maintained vehicle with records and the basic options, challenge grill at least the rear one, scuderia shields and power Daytona seats sub 20k miles type vehicle will be at least mid 70s.

I lot depends on color. I bought my mint Red/Tan, all options 360 Modena this summer for 74k with 14k miles. Fully documented and up to date on service. I saw A LOT for less money but i was not going to find this car for less. I would have bought something else where i either compromised on something important to me like color or i would have had 5-10k in service to do in order to get what i got.

I feel it is much wiser to pay a little more up front and get exactly what you want and have it be turnkey. To do this in red its still mid 70's and up all day if you want red and options

I was very interested in buying a 2002-04 Modena 360 F1 Spider until I began to do some research on this excellent site and reading many other sites and buyer's guides. I have heard all I can stand about bad F1 software, variator tensioner issues, sticky controls, pre cats, TCU issues, doorhandles that fall off, 8k mile clutch replacements on F1's, timing belts, etc. C'mon what is the deal here? Now I appreciate the lineage of Ferrari, the beautiful sound of the engine, the sexy lines of the cars and the head turning by other motorists; however, there are too many mechanical issues to deal with. I would have a hard time giving up my Porsche Twin Turbo for a car with all the issues that lurk beneath the 360. My Turbo is virtually bulletproof and much faster that a 360. My wife of course is hot for the F1 Spider so maybe the hunt may be rekindled in the near future but for now, good luck guys, enjoy. Great wed site.

Most of what you wrote is not reality if you find a well sorted car and actually drive it at least once a week and keep up on maintenance.

i spent years with corvettes porsches and AMG cars, I wish i bought the Ferrari MUCH sooner. There is nothing like it

I have only had my 04 360 spider F1 for only about 6 months now, but there is just something special about a Ferrari that I haven't felt before. I have had Porsche, Maserati and Lamborghini cars and while they are all special in their own way there is just something different about Ferrari. It isn't about the quantifiable numbers as there are obviously cars that easily meet or beat an 04 360 spider, but there is just something in the "feel" of a Ferrari.
