Is this worth the time & money? I know this is a relative questions, I assume the $6k is 'affortable' but not a no-brainer. Has anyone done this and enjoyed the event? http://www.ferrarirally.com/

Hmm, for that kind of dough I'd rather take the Pilota course at the Fiorano track. Thrash their 430's for a couple of days. $6K seems like a lot for a rally.

It's just a way for the organisers to make a whole bunch of money. If you want to drive your Ferrari with a bunch of other Ferrari owners you can do that for free.

I did a Rally back in 2003 and hated it.

Part of it was that the AC quit and we drove though central CA (100 degs). FNA made a feeble attempt to fix it..but didn't (360 Spider btw). Turned out it was a 10 min repair when I returned to the dealer. Wife was ALOT more pissed off than I.

But generally speaking, other than to say you did it...and the chance to get a cool trophy and pictures of yourself printed nationally..there is little point. The local clubs offer the same thrills for free usually on a monthly basis during the season.

Other problems were people kinda went nuts speeding...hence the police went nuts trying to catch people. CHP was pissed off...and to be honest rightly so. One of the chase vehicles was pulled over for driving in a town, in the center median...with someone hanging out a window taking pictures.

There were many stories of clashes between CHP and drivers..it was so bad that CHP came to the hotel and said if they caught anyone the next day, they would impound cars..then added they had a route book.

Not sure if I am bashing arrogant and stupid driving or the FNA rallyes in particular.....but this is the only big overnight rallye I've done.

When someone asked me when it ended if I would be coming back next year...I said no...I prefer to speed on the track.

Thanks for the information. I wanted to know what actually would be included in a $6K package to drive with other Ferrari owners. I thought maybe each participant got to drive a 430 spider for a day or something.

I would agree with the other posts, $6m is alot of cash for a group drive. Between FChatters, F Clubs and guys like Pimpdaddy having their own gatherings and drives (for small amounts of $) you can get your fix quite easily.

For not much more you could rent a vintage eligable car and join the Historic Targa Florio and have a Five day drive/party that you will never forget. Several FCHatter's are joining us this year.

By comparison, I'd say the ExotiCorso in Las Vegas is quite a bargain, at considerably less than half the price.

I guess if you are from out-of-town and you want the trip pre arranged, plus $6 is nothing to you, sure. Otherwise for a video, a T-shirt and drive around my own Zip code, the $6k is better spent elsewhere.
