First one was okay because the idea was new. I watched the second one 2 years after it came out because I was really bored. Terrible decision. I will not see the thrid, sorry.

    Weaker?

You obviously dont know much about Nissan Race Motors.

The RB26 and The VQ series(jap version) Are some of the most highly sought after engines for racing in Japan. Along with the Toyota 2JZ engines, they are basically the best japanese engines ever made.

Not to mention, the 4.6 that is in the Ford Mustang is just an old modular truck engine, its strong yes, but not very moddable, and really not a good race engine.

Maybe get your info next time before assuming that the smaller nissan engine is weaker.

I agree, that's just terrible. However, the car did end up being quicker (I believe it needed a turbo obviously and such..)

The 1967 Ford mustang didnt come with a 4.6 liter and a 2.5 liter engine never gonna produce more power than 6.4 or 7.0 V8 so the idea is still incredibly stupid not to mention the amount of money it would take to do the coversion

It's actually a 2.6 liter twin turbo I6 that they put in the Mustang for FF3 iirc. It's from the Skyline GTR and yes, they can make more HP than those engines you mentioned. It's called forced induction and there are 1300+ all wheel hp GTRs out there (yes, at the wheels).

I had a 1.8 engine producing over 700 hp to the crank.

    Its not always the displacement.

Have to agree with you, the first one it was interesting since they did not make a movie like this, but then came 2 and now 3, it would be cool with the same characters but not a paul walker look alike...

Now we're all going to have to relive the psuedo-kid ricer gone drifter fad now. See how many accidents result from this movie.

    Nonetheless. Congratulations to your friend.

I have hopes for this movie, seeing as how the first movie made a handful of us youngsters (yes i'm included in this) fall in love with cars for the first time. I had a nissan s13(240sx/silvia) w/sr20det in it that i sold not long ago. Should have kept it and sold it for more to the kiddies wanting a "drift car".

The stunt drivers for the movie were a number of prof. drifters, but most notably, Rhys Millen. He did the driving done in "Dukes of Hazzard". He also won the D1GP (drift series) last year. His father, Steve Millen, owns Stillen Racing who creates alot of aftermarket parts for nissans/infinities. The standing mile test done by Road and Track a little while ago had Steve Millen as their main driver.......in short these guys can drive!!

The thinning of the heard starts this summer just after leaving a theater near you. Many kids among various carbon blob useless waste of skin drivers will try to attempt the drifting sequences from this film. Running from the cops & acting gangsta style makes me laugh but count on more pointless accidents & parent groups trying to point the finger at the studio for making a film like this. Ah screw it, I'm going to get a bus pass.

The jap engines are strong and make massive amounts of HP. The have awesome HP/litre figures. But you can also extract the same amount or more HP from V8 engines just as easy. As with the RB26TT, it all depends how far you want to go. There are a few cars here in Aus that have twin turbo V8's that have around 2000hp at the wheels. I just watched a video clip last week of a twin turbo V8 HSV Clubsport blow his engine on the dyno and even caught fire under the bonnet, yet it still managed to pull 1700HP at the wheels. :)

Dont let any hardcore top-fueler drag racer hear you say that. ;) Remember their moto-"Theres no replacement for displacement" :D
