    Hi all,

Ferrari 360 Spider 2002. Fully charged battery with CTEK battery sense fitted.

I have some strange behavior with my turn signals (indicators). It started off just with the left turn signal but now it is on both.

When I activate the signal at least 50% of the time that caused the Harzard warning light triangle to come onto the dash (only that side's lights are on though... it doesn't active both sides). Also the signal is flashing at a fast rate. The Hazard warning light also fast flashes. Strangely the false warning triangle doesn't come on when accelerating, more so when coasting.

    Some things I've thought about:
    1. Bulb blown leading to fast flashing circuit - All bulbs seem lit
    2. Poor earth connection on one of the lights - I don't know where to start testing this?
    3. Relay below the passenger dash is faulty - Without buying one is there a way to test?

Any thoughts would be very welcome!
    Thanks

Did a bit more investigation... turns out when I indicate either left or right it is activating both sides of the indicators (as if I had pressed the hazard light button).

Given this would anyone think it rules out the ground and probably a faulty relay? Or even something more sinister?

I'd guess you have some corrosion in a bulb socket. The symptoms are typical of that or a short in a trailer wiring connector. I think you have current crossing between the t.s. and brake circuits. Since you don't likely have a trailer plug, look at all the t.s. bulb contacts and their sockets.

    See if this helps....

Thanks Streetsurfer - will look in the manual how to remove / check each of the turn signal bulbs for corrosion. I live in Hong Kong right by the sea so it's quite a likely situation!

Your welcome. I hope it proves helpful. Look for one bulb burning weaker than the others......I'd open and check it first, which may save some time and effort.

Doing a bit more research on this forum I think I might bite the bullet and upgrade to a scuding system. This should clear all bar a broken wire situation

Let us know how you get on, I'm having a similar issue in my 430 and it's driving me nuts.

New LED lights fitted all round (+ CTEK battery tender). The kit from Stef @ scuding.com was great. Super easy to install (took maybe 1h15) and crucially the fast flashing and the accidental triggering of the hazard warning lights is FIXED!!

Thanks Streetsurfer for giving me the confidence it was a bulb not a wiring issue!

    Awesome!

I am betting your issue was poor bulb connection and/or defective turn signal relay.
Simple system: Bulbs, Turn Signal Relay, light ECU.

I was going to suggest to just buy the LED tail light kit from Stef Scudding and that should solve your issue. Glad you did!

I had Stef's LED tail lights on my 360 and I just ordered the set for my new F430 Spider.
    Awesome products!
