Hey guys, below you'll find some stats on the fastest street legal cars. And the fastest one is not even mentioned much on this board, so I'm wondering if anyone knows about it and who would be interested in it. I have some distribution contacts and I'm excited to talk more on it.

    World's Fastest

At the Geneva Auto show, Koenigsegg presented their CCR which completed a 388 kph (241 mph) run at the Nardo test track. Based on these records, the CCR has become the fastest production sports car.

    Nardo records:
    1. Koenigsegg CCR 388 km/h
    2. McLaren F1 372 km/h
    3. Ferrari Enzo 355 km/h
    4. Porsche Carrera GT 334 km/h
    4. McLaren Mercedes SLR 334 km/h
    5. Lamborghini Murcielago 330 km/h

Would I buy a street car because of its top speed? No. I'd rather have shorter gears to have faster acceleration. I'd want something with a top speed of about 165 instead of 240+ if I were going to use it on the streets. I'd have to drive each of those cars you listed to get a feel for the ride before purchasing.

There's one in south Florida and I'm pretty sure it was imported under Show & Display, which limits you to 2,500 miles a year (you can do this for a Zonda, too).

I'm not positive about the Koenigseggs being under Show And Display ... no doubt about the 3 Zondas, though.

I'm 99.9% sure that the Koenigsegg CC8S/CCR is NOT street legal yet in the US. This thread may help:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49589&highlight=Koenigsegg

It's kind of vague and by looking at Koenigsegg USA's web site, http://www.koenigsegg.us doesn't show a lot of promise for the car to be US street legal and available for purchase.

And, this may not be saying much, but I've never heard anything in any car mag or US TV show saying that the car is available to be driven on our streets, and I'm pretty sure that'd be a major event!

Who cares about if its legal or not in the US? (sorry to say so....55mph).
    That was not the question!
YES, its is street legal! Its built in Europe and street legal in Europe.
But I don`t see a problem if its leagal or not in the US. Lots of Ferrari F1 cars from 1999, 2000, 2001 are in the US and also not street legal - just for fun and to drive them on a track - where else do you want to DRIVE (and not to cruise) a Königsegg with your speedlimit?

    That´s getting a little ridiculous.

However, a supercar needs superperformance. If I were in the market for a supercar, topspeed would be on my wishlist. So, the Enzo will do just fine, thank you. (i don´t care about a McLaren and the Koenigsegg is just plain ugly to me).

Let´s wait and see what a Veyron can do at Nardo.

    You are correct.

The car is street legal. The gentleman who brought the car actually drove it to the event and got a flat tire on the way down. The plates are dealer plates and is somewhat on consignment to him. He is using it to establish a dealer network here in the US.

Last I heard, a few months back, it was shipped back to the factory for some service work.

what kind of engine does it have?
kinda sort remember a Ford V8 ?? is that possible?
also what's the difference between a CC8 and CCR ?
any relation with the european tuner KOENIG?

is the same car we all have "driven" in GOTHAM 2 ?

P.S. for those who think 388 km/ h is fast: wait until the mighty Bugatti Veyron unleashes it's thousand horses on the streets and much more comfortably too.

I love the EB110 as for the Veyron, it tool some time but I’m coming around to liking the way it looks. Performance is going to be incredible even if it has been toned down…

I can't wait either for the Bugatti to get its final specs out, but I think I would get nice Ferrari or a Koenigsegg then the Bugatti.

The CC8S is the older version with 'only' 655 bhp while the brand new CCR has 806 bhp.
    Check it out here http://www.koenigsegg.com/thecars/index.asp?submenu=4

From what I know, the tunning company KOENIG has nothing to do with Koenigsegg cars.
