Some people have absolutely no clue or concept of what that is nor do they have any shame.

Unlimited speed? In Europe? Germany only (in selected areas).
This crash happened in Italy, the limit there is 130 km/h.
Some witnesses stated (in newspaper reports) the Lusso drove above 200 km/h when it happened.

ONLY German Autobahns have SOME sections that are unlimited however there is not much surveillance on Autostradas in that region of north west Italy, I once rode as a passenger at 305kph -190mph- in an AMG sh***box in that area on a zero traffic day. But endless straights as is the case in that huge flat plain breed a gradual loss of attention... while your speed remains the same. A bad cocktail...and those driving slow are practically asleep and will switch lanes to overtake trucks without appreciating your actual closing speed. Happens all the time.

Time to think. To absorb what so many have been trying to tell you for ages...but it's apparently hopeless.

It is sad this accident happened. There are no reasons to drive at this speed in public Roads.Lesson to be learnt.

My sad take is that if you are the sole occupant, and of no danger to anyone else, do what you will. But, to put a passenger at risk...there is no way to describe the amount of arrogance, ego, etc of the driver.

Hitting the Armco sideways was like a knife cutting through the car. I hope the deceased did not suffer.

Just horrible.. keep in mind that at substantial speed ( we have all been there ) all it takes is a few seconds to twitch, move wheel , bounce , or hit a pot hole to loose control .
Be safe and respect the power .!

God rest their souls and may God soothe the pain their families are suffering. The make of the car matters nothing to the surviving family members.

I actually had a nice ride, for over an hour and a half, in between the rain drops. There was one guy , drunk as hell , coming up and over the bridges, he was crossing over the lanes without looking . He was driving a real POS, sitting way back thinking he was in control while veering all over the road.

I wanted to pull up along side and insult him with vulgarities , but I just got off my exit and went back over the bridges to the peninsula, not worth it. I figured maybe the cops would pick him up.

The road was cold and I was sliding on some of the corners, I could not even hoist up the front end, my back tire just kept spinning .
I think it might be time for a new set of tires. Im grateful I was able to ride , this weekend wasnt a total loss.

Well its just about April, live to ride another day.

In a thread where people are aghast over the loss of life in the Ferrari community, you denigrate the car involved, make it all about you again, and then crow that you're living to ride another day. Your callous self-absorption here has resulted in several people deeming you not fit to participate in our online Ferrari community and half a dozen very quickly called for your permanent site ban over it.

Permanent thread exclusion applied. If you want to stay on the site, Gino, read the room - you're on thin ice.

    Regards,
    Andrew.

my swiss friends sent me the pics yesterday.
horrible accident, looks self induced though.
looking at the pics, it appears that the car veered to the left, somehow got the front end of the car under the armco, then sheered off every upright until it hit the wall, whereupon the rear half the car was severed and spun off to the right side. the front end of the car then caught on fire - likely because when it severed the fuel lines were cut and spilled everywhere.

    but i could be wrong.

Crashed with right side into the concrete/wall, the horrendous impact let the entire rear bodywork and right side of the car fly off to the right side of the road. Italian authorities mention the crash happened with well above 200 km/h.
40 year old driver Isa Q. from Villeneuve, Switzerland, was working as a DJ who had played the night before (Saturday 30th March 2024) in a club in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. Leaves behind wife and kids. Identity of passenger not yet clear. Crash happened Sunday 31st March 2024 shortly after noon.

Gut wrenching and heartbreaking. RIP and wishing comfort to the families. Had he lost control a couple seconds later. He would have cleared the Armco and concrete, and most likely would have spun out in the grass ahead. This outcome would have been a lot more favorable. Hearing things like this always gives me pause to think of how life can be gone in a split second.

The armco here in Texas anyway seems these days to be made of aluminum foil mounted to breakaway posts. It stops very little based on the huge numbers of drivers here testing it daily. If Swiss armco is similar the fact the car went under it isn't at all a surprise to me. I remember a picture of a Suburban here in Texas hitting the end of the armco and it went through the truck end to end like a spear. Now it just crumples up like aluminum foil.

Sleep deprivation may also be a possible cause at high speeds.
