    As some may know,my daughter is getting married tomorrow (well, maybe, I still don't know if I can actually give her away) and one of my duties was to pick out the father/daughter dance song.

    Boy, what an emotional search. I am a rather composed individual, not afraid of speaking in front of crowds or jumping over tall buildings, however this did shake me up.

    If you have daughters you may just want to look into some of these, good for the relationship.

    If I even make it to the dance, I'll be very surprised. Having three daughters has been the most rewarding part of my life. Great choice on the song.

    I immediately thought of this song when I read your first post. I heard it in the car one day when I was driving my daughter somewhere and started to cry. She was only a few months old but that song hit me like a damn sledge hammer.


    Update:

    I stopped typing and called my girls out to sit on my lap as we listened to the song and I cried again. They were waiting for me to tuck them in. This time my daughter Morgan (7 yo who was in the car seat the first time I heard the song) was crying too. I explained what the song was about and why it made me cry. I have one boy, Patrick (9) and two girls Morgan (7) and Bridget (4) and sons are cool daughters are.......I can't even put it into words.

    Congrats on the marriage of your daughter. I know she will never forget that dance with Daddy. Just like I will never forget the moment that I had with my girls because of your thread.
