    My favorite from France is Chassagne Montrachet and from California the lovely ZD (Zero Defects) Chardonnay. Recently I have been enjoying the trendy, unoaked Mer Soleil Silver chardonnay. If you don't like the wine, at least the bottle is a keeper.

    Here is a new one from California that's similar to La Crema, it's called Ghost Pines. It has a lousy looking label but tastes great and sells for 14.00

    Franciscan cuvée sauvage has that butter like quality
    Clos du Val is also a nice chard

    Spirot. You beat me to it. I buy Cali Chards for guests only, although I did like the Kalin, Kistler, and I buy the Newton unfiltered for a good friend. Our daily drinkers for chards are Chablis, Burgundy and Loire Valley based wines.

    Thanks to this forum really enjoying La Crema chardonnay.

    Miner Family is right up there with Rombauer.

    We bought 3 cases of the R new release. Life is good.

    Been drinking Acacia (Carneros)I like it even more than the La Crema and there have been some huge sales on it in the past two weeks. Try it you will like it

    You might consider calling Applejack's in Denver. They are doing a delivery to the mountains (I know they come to Vail) at least once a week. Free of charge. They might even go as far as Aspen, depending on the size of the order, but you'd have to check with them.

    If they have what you are looking for, and you drink enough of it, it make sense to put a sizable order in and have it delivered to your doorstep.

    I recently took a french wine class in two sessions. Both sessions started out with whites and I was surprised that I really liked the french whites. I'll have to look at my notes, but I do remember Montrachet being one of them. They were so pale and so NOT oaked. I've never been a huge fan of US whites. Some of these changed my mind!!

    I'll look up my notes when I get home. Also had some amazing reds in the class!!

    Chateuneuf du Papes are known for their reds, but the blanc are quite excellent too.
