Have you ever had something fly that shouldn’t? I built this dog house in the UGA shop at work w/ the help of our boat captain & master craftsman. I drew up the plans w/ dimensions, etc. It was the perfect dog house constructed of ¾ ply & 2x4s (see illustration) heavily coated w/ boat paint. Jim built everything for 10x max load.
A couple guys lifted the finished piece into the back of a pickup & we headed for my house. At about 40 mph we felt a shudder & the dog house took off & flew out of the truck. It was amazing. The wing principle was illustrated in the extreme. We watched in horror as the 100 pound dog house flew way up & crashed behind. You can’t fool Mother Nature. Fortunately, it only sustained minor damage due to the bullet proof construction & soft landing in marshy water. Snoopy lived to fly again.
