On my GT4, I knew exactly what color I wanted, but not so sure on the 400 that is about to join the stable. Please help me? What's your favorite color for the 365/400/412?

Definitely darker colours. They really seem to suit the classy, understated image of the 365/400/412 series.

Our 365 is painted in a colour that looks very similar to Azzurro California Metallic, and has navy blue leather. Very different, and it looks great.

I'm partial to black or any of the dark metallics.

I'm curious as to what one would look like in Giallofly. Were any produced, and does anyone have a picture of same?

I saw one in Hemmings a couple of years ago - it looked pretty grim, and had plenty of other issues I think. I've just Googled yellow/giallo 400s and drew a blank.

There is a yellow one in Florida. It was at Sebring a couple of years ago.
Here is a picture of the yellow one in Austin, Texas, #46859

That is a nicer shade of yellow for a 400 than giallo fly; looks like Jaguar's primrose yellow.

Just acquired a black/black 1969 365 GT 2+2, which was painted approx 15 years ago and still looks very good. My first black car and I like the look more and more every day. Is there a Ferrari authentication document that I can request for a car of this age anhd how? John

    Hi John,

Welcome aboard! 365GT 2+2s are great cars but they are very different than 365 GT4 2+2s (made in the mid '70s), your model is generally discussed in the vintage section (you are most welcome to say here but I think you will get better answers there). You may also want to try www.tomyang.net. There are threads in each describing how to get documents from Ferrari. The only free dcument from Ferrari, at this point, is one that will tell you the car's original color combination. However, there are several members that may be able to provide you with some of your car's history.

Also, send a PM to Bryan P. He also has a black 365 GT 2+2 and he knows these cars very well.

    Regards,

    Art S.
