I've always liked a good old #3 w/cheese. Although, I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Culver's. DAMN good. Given the choice, I prefer to grill them myself--much better.

I got food poisioning at Wendy's a few years ago. And for about a year after, everytime I passed a Wendy's, that sick feeling would return. Go Big Mac.

I'm not much of a fan of fast food burgers. My favorite burger place is Port of Call in New Orleans, and my second favorite place is Firedog Saloon in Bay St. Louis.

Yeah, it is a bummer - again, actually. They filed in '96, speculation was ripe in '01...
Prandium, the parent company - also has ChiChi's, KooKooRoo - all in trouble.

In-N-Out gets my vote. I worked there for four years while I was in college. The trick to get your burgers to taste the same is, toasting the inside of the bun, and thousand island dressing. You also can order a burger as large as you want. They have double doubles, two peices of meat two peices of cheeze. You can get a tripple tripple, a 4x4, 10x10. We had some frat guys order a 150x150. They brought a special box they made for it, and it cost a few hundred bucks. They raced to see if they could eat it faster than the best time from the previous year. I think they cleaned it up in like 8 or 9 minutes. Also they pay pretty good. Some of the store managers can make $100K a year. All of the store are owned by one family, and to date they do not franchise.

Don't have several of the burger places listed out here in the waste-lands of west texas, but Sonic is pretty damn good. It may just be the onion rings.

Dairy Queen's Beltbuster used to rock. Not many left out here. All were bought up by McDonalds and converted.

Fast Food, gets my vote for Steak & Shake or Burger Street (here in Ft. Worth) but if we go rest. style then Saltgrass makes a very good Angus Beef burger!

OH and wax... freakin love the picture, good one! "... ever tried Hawaiian burger joint..."

My favourite burger is at the Four Seasons in T.O, its a little pricey at $17.

EDIT: Its not fast food, but its still the best I've had.
