I had a Monster for a few years. Great bike! I eventually figured out that I liked touring on motorcycles, and the Monster was the wrong bike for it. However, for riding around town and just having fun, it was fantastic.

I'm not up to speed on the latest offerings, but at the time it seemed the 950 was about 200 lbs lighter than a GS. There was a big single that I would have loved in the day but it was a piledriver vibration wise.

Had many bikes over the years and amongst my favorites was the original vmax, Ducati Panigales including the SLs but my standout favorite was my 2011 Ducati Diavel. It was a do everything bike- cruiser, standard and superbike all in one bike and with the Termignoni exhaust sounded phenomenal. Just sold it and regretted it before I did but life moves on.

I can say favorite bie is my1985 Yamaha radian. First machine i bought new. It was between that bile and honda vfr 500. the Yamaha just fit me better and the air-cooled motor with low gearing had great scoot.

Still have that bike, i think it just rolled over 3800 miles and with my ocd still looks showroom fresh. It sat maybe 15 years in storage when I lived in Africa and needed a fair bit of recommissioning. The last time I rode it in pre storage was 1994 the day before I got married. The next time was maybe 2009 after Jim and I got it all sorted gain(rebuilt brakes fuel tank cleaned etched etc, carbs redone).

My freind Jim who was sadly declining from ALS had seen it in my gathering dust and told me he had 3 months of physicality left, so that was the time frame for us to work on the bike.

I ride it 50-75 miles per year around the hood. Amazingly have a picture of me age 22 wheeling it down a street in New Orleans where lived at the time. Hard to believe so many years have gone by and every time I ride it, those years disappear, same bike same ride.

Def not the objectively best bike Ive owned, but clearly a favorite as its the one kept for memorable reasons as well as just like the way it fits and rides. Going to be in Ct where it lives next week, this thread remined me I can take it for ride visiting neighbors.

these days i start to wonder how long I can keep riding it, going to be 60 soon, so maybe another 20 perhaos 30 years. Weird to think less years left to ride my "new bike" than have passed riding it. YOLO gota ride more.

My favorite motorcycle is an elusive moving target. Currently mine is this Ducati MH900e with a mysterious backstory. I would love to resuscitate the old girl.

She’s with an f-chatter in AZ. I wish he’d give me a call!

That was a weird emotional roller coaster of emotions experience auctions.
The high bidder backed out after the sale, apparently clueless how BAT is run. That was on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon I went to very emotional service for Bruce, the deceased prior owner of the bike.
A friend thought he was doing me a favor and commented on the bike, I saw him today and teased him he soured the whole thing to get a deal on it.
    Weird all the way around.

Yup, ruined the auction. It was a new guy to BAT, bid at 1 in the morning, I am guessing after a few beers and such without reading any of the commentary. Probably woke up and realized what they had done. I knew something was up when he emailed me asking what "shipping was to Florida" like it was a car part bought on Ebay not realizing the buyer handles shipping with cars and motorcycles.

Well, good news is you have a buyer right here in this thread, bad news is I doubt he will pay what the BaT guy bid!

Good luck-- I hope that a success story comes out of all this.

Hard to pick a fave but this was by far my fave to look at: my MV Augusta F4. Famously designed by Massimo Tamburini who also penned the Ducati 916, it was just a visual (and aural) orgasm...
Some might recognize the yellow tacho and the typeface used for the 'F4' logo . Inspiration was drawn from the very best.

Unfortunately we got squished by concrete truck and she is no longer with us. But I'll have another one day...
