    Not that much actual work involved, just beer-drinking time. You can even shortcut the rising time by slapping the dough straight onto the pan and only letting it rise once, but it's better if you leave it to rise longer.

    I lived there for 9 years, but never got used to it. In college my roommate would order them uncut and fold the up like a huge taco (he gained 40 lbs in a year).

    yes, thin crusted is definately the way forward.

    Dr oetker sells nice ones, with peperoni, mushrooms and ham. nicest where i've ever eaten pizza was in a very small restaurant in israel, near tel aviv.

    I prefer ham and serrano, or ham and jalapeno. Or either of those using "canadian bacon" in place of ham.

    Lots of bizarre pizza offerings to be found in Japan: corn is a popular topping there, as are many types of fish, as one might expect. Also, some places offer pizzas with mayonnaise or squid ink in place of tomato sauce. I think I could handle the squid ink one (it's pretty tasty!), but mayo on a pie is just WRONG! :)

    I just remembered this one, I've only had it from Olive Garden, but more people probably have had it. It replaces tomato sauce with Alfredo and topped with chicken. Its delicious

    In China you can get tuna among other odd things on your pizza. Pizza Hut was far nicer than stateside, we tried it in a couple of different cities.

    The best pizza I have had from a regular pizza place consisted of alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce, cheese, pepperonis, bacon, and more cheese.
    There is a new gorumet pizza place in town, Pizzeria Seven Twelve that has incredible food that doesn't make you feel like a bloated moose after eating there.

    After reading some of your posts, I can only conclude that when it comes to butchering cuisine, you Yanks are only topped (pardon the pun) by the Brits.
    Pineapples and smoked snails just-do-not-belong on a pizza. :mad:

    I was quite surprised by the amount of Pineapple aficianados on FerrariChat, thought it was a "cAnAdiAn" kinda thing. I totally support it as well as thin crust flavourfFULL pizzas...

    Pineapple on pizza is for girls. That has been my belief for a long time and always will be. So..... every now and then I like to get in touch with my feminine side and have a ham and pineapple pizza. mmmmm........

    Tuna pizza (with capers) is quite common in Italy. I like it. I've found that the tuna you get in Europe is often better tasting than the cat food smelling stuff we have in the States :-( Not trying to be snobbish, just what I've experienced. Hey, Americans know how to make good eggsalad samiches...

    I think Dr. Oetker pizzas (along with other frozen German pizza) just don't have enough "stuff" on them. I don't think a pizza should be smothered in toppings but....

    And, I really don't like the idea (I know this is silly) of eating a pizza from a person/company called "Dr." XXXX Doesn't sound very appealing/romantic. I don't want a doctor developing or making my pizza. Give me a guy called Dominic or Alfonso etc. :)

    Back in my younger days I worked at a Pizza hut and I would make me my special own pizza every so often.

    Spicy Doritos chips or spicy Cheetos crushed up and then mixed in with the pizza dough, I would then run the dough threw the machine to flatten it.
    Then I would paint the pan with garlic butter, put the dough in and paint the dough with garlic butter.
    Sauce it
    Cheese it
    Then add Pepperoni and sausage
    Then cook it so the pepperoni edges where slightly crispy

    No one that lives more than a 60 minute drive from New York city should be taken seriously when it comes to Pizza or it's toppings.
