Hey guys. My name is Rob Neill and I am a 15 year old amateur phtographer. My camera is a Nikon D50. Ive been a member on Fchat for quite awhile although havent had much time to post anything due to being so busy with all my school work. School however took a backseat for this AMAZING EVENT. So anyways those of you who wanted pictures got your wish. 385 pics worth. BTW if anyone wants prints made of their car just PM me and I'm sure I can arrange something.

If you mean the "250 GTO" its a replica. And I do believe that is Rolands F40. I couldnt believe it when I saw it either.

I guess it takes a lot of "something" to take a bad replica to a ferrari track day.....Looks like a great showing with a large amount of diversity. Great pictures by the way, i like the shots by Oak Tree.

If you are talking about the 5th picture down, it is def not a replica. There was a replica 250 there - but that car pictured above is not it,this one is the real deal.

The bad Nissan based 250 GTO was there later in the afternoon on Saturday. It definitely take big cojones, or a perverse sense of humor, to bring a car like this to a Ferrari event. I"m guesing the latter. The F40LM was brought by a guy from Ohio. I don't think it was Roland.

After the track event on Saturday was a nice small concours and dinner at Berry Hill. Here are some pictures of that. One collector (Buddy ?) brought a 288GTO, F40, F50, and Enzo. The guy looking for the serial number in the Enzo engine bay is NNO, of course! Steve Barney offered dealer plates to anyone with a non-street legal F car to drive it from VIR to Berry Hill. The owner of the F40LM was the only taker. That must have been a sight - seeing an F40LM blasting along country roads!

I like the "Queen Mother," LOL! It came by South Course on Sunday and sounded GREAT!

The 250GT LWB "Tour de France", 0893GT, was RACING on the South Course with us, as was 250GT LWB "Interim" (looks like a 250GT SWB with a rear quarter window) 1465GT, Maserati Tipo 61 "Birdcage" #2452 and TWO Pre-War Maserati Grand Prix cars, a 6CM-1500 and an 8C-3000.

The TdeF (race number 238) finished 7th overall, 2nd in class at the 1958 Sebring 12-hours driven by George Reed and finished first in C Production at the SCCA VIR Spring National in May of 1958! Here it was, almost 50 years later, SPINNING in the race on Sunday in Turn 7 after running in third against much more modern machinery, he recovered to finish fifth overall.

No roll bar, no fuel cell, just BIG cajones... We were thankful to the fellow who brought them out (same fellow brought the 250 GTO (LMB body) (we had TWO 250 GTO's at Gold Cup last year, alas not this year) and the "Birdcage" to Gold Cup last year.

Sorry I missed all my friends, but ever since they put us across from one another on the SAME weekend, I haven't had time to visit!

Cool! When you won the award for bringing the car from the furthest distance, I thought I heard Ohio. Sorry about that! I also must have missed the memo about Roland's F40 trading hands. Congrats! That's one awesome ride, and I bet it was fun driving it from the track to Berry Hill. Nice back roads.

No worries, most people thouht I was from a diff place due to the dealer tags on my rig.

roland if doing great and we both felt I would be a good new owner and use the car in the manner it was ment to be.

Having never been on this track before, I was keeping things a but mild in both my cars.

Things got much faster and such Sunday afternoon.

Are you really trying to tell me that this car is real??? With the two hoop roll bars and the hood starting in the wrong place? (should be further back) I think that i know my ferraris just fine, thanks.

Not a real GTO. Based on a Z-car. Kept at the track by a VIR Club member who lives in Winston-Salem - a very knowledgeable car guy. He was a guest of the FCA and helped judge the concours.

    Rob, your pic's are excellent!!
Way better than the few I got to take - thanks!

If you'd be willing to share some of the large format versions there are some I would love to get. You clearly know what you're doing. Your photos are way better than any others I've seen from the weekend so far, especially the ones I took when I was able to hold my camera long enough. :)

Aaron - Great meeting you! I meant to tell you, I love that paint job on your rig!! Next time you come to VIR, look me up if you like (you got my business card about the "replacement rig") and I can show you the sneaky tricks around the track, especialy if you're racing there. You might say I know the place just a bit, as I stopped logging track miles there several years ago when I passed 12K. ;-)

    Superb Weekend!!!
    Cheers,
    Chuck

I will have my pics up as soon as I can since I have a lot.
Anyways I ventured over on the South Paddock for a few min to see the Vintage cars and was only planning to be there for a few min. I noticed a crowd of people and a nice guy in a Brown hat talking about the Vintage cars. I stayed around cause it seemed very interesting and I know I probably stayed over there well over an hour. Just as the speaker was wrapping up I tapped someone on the shoulder in the crowd to ask where was Peter Krause at and the guy proceeded to point to the speaker. I was a little bit embarrassed but I was really impressed by the knowledge of Peter on the cars. Wow you really know your stuff. I need to make a trip to your place and check it out.

    Chuck -

Welcome to FCHAT!!! I'll be calling you in the next few days. I'm still trying to put my car back together after a great weekend of driving. Your instruction was invalulable, and I really look forward to have you pilot my car again.

Whatcha doing on November 9th? I have booked the FULL course for the private test/tune day. Interested?

    -Daniel

p.s. Since you're new to Fchat, you might not recognize my screen name. I'm Daniel -- you know, the black 348 with the crappy tires but great sounding exhaust around 7000 rpm.
