These are usually the more intimate affairs of 15-25 people and not the big blowouts like the ECN's. Sometimes we are limited on space and have to cap at 20 or less. Please submit your suggestions for a place. We haven't done anything downtown or uptown yet. You can also start submitting your head counts. Current List Rob & Jennie (2) Thanks, rob
We'll try to attend. How about Mi Piaci in Addison? They have a cool wine cellar/basement you can get if you have enough people, but I don't know how many people that is.
You can put us down on the list at this time. Do you have any idea what time it may start? (we're about 2 hrs away) Carol & John (2)
It will start at 7 somewhere. I was trying to have it downtown or uptown, but we'll consider Jim's idea if nothing else comes up. We've done 3 of the 4 previous FD's around Addison. Of course 3 of 4 restaurants in DFW are in Addison.
I know a couple of people who run restaurants, one in the Henderson/75 area and one in the uptown area. I have talked to the fellow that is the chef at the uptown restaurant and he would be very interested! Problem with both is LIMITED parking. If I can get a Ferrari Car count (assuming a good weather evening) I will look into the parking situation at both. Don
It's kind of sad, but when I think of a place to have this event, the first thing I think of is parking. Food is secondary.
You got that right! I remember reading about the poor chap that had all the problems occur to his car in the San Diego area when he went out for dinner! Hope the weather is cooperative! I was just skimming thru some back issues and current issue of Texas Driver checking out their restaurant reviews and found these (no personal experiences - we usually eat out in Fort Worth or Waco): TUCKER - 3113 Ross Avenue - bldg is former showroom of the Tucker automobile JAVIER'S - 4912 Cole Avenue - gourmet dining wiht south-of-the-border accents NIKITA - West Village - Russian-themed restaurant DRAGONFLY - 2332 Leonard Street - unique restaurant Mediterranean and Asian inspired dishes Carol
I like Rob L's idea as per quote above - it definitely knocks some time off our drive. Are we in contention for the award for coming the farthest distance to local events?? All we ask is that the location be such that there's parking where Sophia would be safe and comfortable. Christmas of '82 we went for dinner at a restaurant across 75 from North Park - parked our brand new '82 Alfa GTV 6 definitely away from other cars and damned if some jerk didn't hit it! Carol
Count me in too...GS plus Britney Spears. How about "Terrillis" (sp?) on Lower Greenville Avenue. Great Italian food at a fair price. Live jazz band . Great valet parking. Excellent people watching...plenty of trampy looking, scantily dressed babes to stare lovingly at. Then when the non-partiers leave, the remaining boozers can stumble over to "Hurricanes' or "Stan's Blue Note" for additional beverages and inappropriate behavior. But I really don't car where we go, I'm just a follower. "Dairy Queen" is fine with Britney and I.
Terrillis is good, our Ferraris looked good there last time. Not sure if they have a table for 20+, although I do remember 20+ in a bachelorette party fitting OK. Hmm, we remember the darndest things. Isn't Terrillis where you told me a girl was waiting for her car in valet and was hit and killed? Susan recommended Somba room? Keep the ideas coming or vote on ones already submitted. We'll decide early next week where, but the time is set.
Samba Room was great last time, but we were out on the patio. Not sure that will be as pleasant in January. Still, well worth keeping in mind when the weather warms up. Don't know if I'm in yet or not, probably no.
Terilli's parking scares me, too many people, too many cars. Besides, we can't see them from the restaurant. Bob's in Plano has good parking, but it's WAY North.
I just talked to my friend who is the chef at 2900. he says that they could accomodate 10 to 15 cars in the front lot(visible from the restaurant) 20 people is not a problem. Cuisine is pretty much the norm, ie. steaks, seafood, pasta, salads, etc. Good wine for $30. a bottle and up. Dinner in the $20 to $30 range. 2900 is located at 2900 Thomas street. This is just slightly east of the uptown area. It is E. of the tollway, W of central and N. of Good-Lattimer. NOT A PLUG JUST A SUGGESTION!
Inside the loop, there is always NorthPark with PF Changs or Magianos. If we could reserve the front to park I think we could see the cars from inside Magianos. I bet we could talk them into blocking off some space to park Italian cars then reserve a table by the windows. Just an Idea. Don't remember PF Changs setup. They may not be quite Fine Dining. I didn't know if we were trying to be literal on the Fine Dining thing.
Hmm maybe you all could get a non Ferrari owner that is also a member of Ferrarichat to hangout in the parking lot to park the F-cars and watch over them Hint, hint If any of you where to come out to find you car missing, well that would be just me taking it for a quick spin to keep the car warm for your drive home
Map to 2900. I assumed it was in Dallas... Now we just need someone with valet experience......hmm.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
