For Fat Cab, and others in the same situation, this event is in a public place that will be open anyway. So nothing to stop anyone from showing up. But, we might try inducing folks to join. Jeff
Sounds like a good event, hopefully people will show up. The club needs to organize some "official" membership drive events - I'm sure bentley stl would be willing to help out with something along those lines. What's great about the location of this event is that southern Illinois is often overlooked, but there are obviously some enthusiasts on the other side of the river.
Yes, there are a group of us on the other side of the river. We are also reaching out to all the FCA members in Southern Illinois that are from Bloomington and south. There are several listed for Springfield and have already heard from one in Quincy. Membership drive is a nice idea but currently I would just like to see more of the current members come out. Part of my attempts to reach to ones north of Springfield is to ensure that they know we are here and are closer than going to Chicago. Need to figure out how to get the Springfield, MO crowd to attend some of our events. Not sure if they see themselves as more Kansas City related or just assume they have forgotten by everyone. Had no idea the level of animosity was this high. Got e-mails from others about this too. Chicago has 2 authorized dealers that have somehow managed to coexist with the club. Los Angeles has over the years suffered from groups that had difficulty getting along with each other but people just congregated to different areas to be with their idea of preferable people. There has been a fair amount of sniping about our local chapter's perceived stagnation with the pretty much the same group of people being the participants with only +1 or +2. These comments have been here on F-Chat and in various e-mails and PM conversations. There is no expectation that everybody likes everybody else. Some here may have problems with me and that is OK. I am trying to make a real effort to broaden our group by reaching out to get additional participation; making personal pleas to all the Southern Illinois FCA members that are beyond our normal "Metro East". If you don't like someone then don't sit with them and wander off to find a more neutral area. Don't stomp off and not participate because someone you would rather not see might be there. The car may be interesting even if the owner isn't. Maybe I missed it but didn't notice any massive flaming attacks when EMM became a sponsor here on F-Chat. Jeff

Jeff Thought I should post this here vs a pm No offense to you whatsoever - I hope to get over there at some point and support what yourself and Randy are doing.
Doug, Look forward to seeing you. Been trying real hard to grow the group of participants beyond the "usual suspects". Next event want to hit you up for is hosting something at Holtman Manor for the club. That entry esplanade would look real nice with an assortment of Ferraris; good photo op! Jeff
No problem - I am lending the home out a few times next spring for Charity Events. It would be great to have the cars at one of the events - and of course offer rides to the kids The street has two very long straights that are well suited for roaring engines
maybe you could form the "one lap of Clayton" for charity between your house, Tim's house, and JPM's house
Congrats to you Jeff and Randy, The event was great fun... Great cars, great people, great location... Ready to join the Chapter..... Keep up the good work..... Andy
Thank you. We enjoyed having everyone. Link for FCA membership: https://www.ferrariclubofamerica.org/index.cfm/ID/43/JointheFCA

looks like it was a great event! better turnout than usual - but free food and drinks will usually do that,
New member and first attendance to an FCA event. Have a son that is crew on the Patron sponsored 458 racer. Jeff
