A quick heads-up to the next Ferrari event in Chicagoland: http://www.fcacentralstates.org/event_description.asp?eventid=120 Always a nice event with great food. Here some pics from last year. I'll be there. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Andreas, This event seems to be more open to the public. The Oak Street event had a section that was just for the owners and did not let the public get close to the cars. Is there any other difference between this event and the Oak Street deal? Thanks. Vince
You're quite right. Although similar to the Oakstreet event, this is a lot more low key. Smaller turnout of cars, less rare cars and more open to the public, no fencing off etc. Also normally a lot less people visiting since it is not the Mag mile and later in the year. The Italian Village sponsors a nice lunch buffet (which is always great of course), there is normally some live music being played, some trophies awarded and the participation fee goes to charity for children's hospital. Sometimes there is a chance to give rides to some children.
The only issue with this event is you will need to watch over your car a little more than the Oak Street show. Last year I saw people sitting on hoods and leaning on the cars for pictures. The food at the buffet was very good. There were about 5-6 police officers walking around for the duration of show as well.
Well it is in the Loop. They block off a section of Monroe street in front of the Italian Village. It is the section between Clark and Dearborn street. So if you come from the Kennedy or Ike head East through the loop. Ideally on Jackson or Monroe Street.
Who is going, by the way???? I contactec Mike Epifino, no registration needed, just show up between 10 and 10:30. I'm in.... anyone else?????
hi guys, i'm just a lowley porsche owner, but i'm going to be there. any idea what f-cars will be included in the registered 60? thanks
The pictures below give you the best idea: Many cars from 1980 to today with the occasional sixties car thrown in. As I said, this is not as glamorous an event as Oak Street, but just as nice in its own lower key way. And the lunch buffet is fantastic and it all is for a very good cause.
This sounds like something I have to check out. Also, what other Ferrari events are in the Chicago area (just moved here)?
1. Check out the stickies in the Chicago section of Ferrarichat 2. http://www.focmidwest.com/services.html 3. http://www.fcacentralstates.org/events.asp But most importantly: Attend an event.

Bill! Great to see that you are "Out and about"....I didn't know that both you and your Car were "Ready for Action" yet....Congrats of the Prize!
Billiam didn't bring his Ferrari. There were two 365 2+2 however. Heck there were even two Enzos. But amazingly for instance no 348 and no GT4. What are the odds?
